The amazing thing about Jordan is that his body always seemed to remain suspended in the air for at least a half second longer than physics dictated it should.

He may be the greatest athlete I've seen, forget basketball player.

The guy had a lot of media hype behind him in the the late 1980s/1990s, but he deserved all of it.

I'm a little older and seems to me Lebron was as much must see TV as MJ was on a national level. Just my opinion.

The younger generation is always infatuated with the newest best player. Kobe Bryant, they said was better than Michael Jordan - and it was blasphemy to suggest that Kobe had a bad game, took too many shots or anything bad. To them(we used to call them the Kobe Kids) Kobe was Jesus Christ. Now Lebron and when He is finished, I expect it will be Anthony Davis or K Leonard if he finds a way to win championships, but Stephon Curry is up there on the list as well

Lebron has to be in the conversation as well but for different reasons. While his athleticism is off the charts for his size, his strength and how he finishes at the rim going 0 to 100 is kinda crazy to think about. Lebron and MJ are right there at the top for their generations and as of right now probably 1-2 on the best ever list (Lebron for some 3-5).

Anyone ever try to lay it up while going full speed down the court while gliding in the air as you are getting mugged? Kinda crazy to think about and making it a 3 point play even crazier.

Like you said, MJ could just glide and move his body in the air pretty effortlessly for an extra split second but it seems much longer watching it, another guy was Dr. J. There were others, but these guys stand out.

Magic had consistently great scoring ability as well. Lebron is basically a bigger, faster version of Magic.

Which is kind of crazy to think about since Magic was 6'9" and not exactly slow. lol

Who was more athletic? Prime Derrick Rose or Westbrook. I think it's Westbrook, but it's really close. Think prime Rose was more controlled.

Rose was stupid fast.

Saw him play live in a high level AAU game against a team that had Kevin Love, Brandon Jennings and Chase Budinger.

Rose got a long rebound at about the FT line, and a a guard from the other team was at about half court. The guard turned around and tried to sprint back, he didn’t even back pedal, yet Rose still beat him to the rim. Never seen somebody go end to end faster with the ball in their hands.
