Castillo's stuff is absolutely filthy. 98-100 with movement. Making a lot of guys look silly in those clips.

I actually like this move. In a perfect world it would’ve been one of the other relievers instead of Graveman. Club control is cool but it isn’t like the guy didn’t just literally signed a low salary 1 year deal. It’s like Jerry could give Wade Leblanc an extension but it’s a hard pass for Graveman.

That was going to be my argument t some point. Graveman is so loyal and took a paycut to come back. He would have jumped on an extension with Seattle.

In the end we made 3 trades, added 4 players, and are about a slight bit better now than on Monday. Not enough to catch A's or hold off the Yanks with their moves. This means it has to pay off over the next few years and if we don't smell the playoffs in those next few years this becomes an epic failure.

The difference between epic failure and success in the next 3-4 years will absolutely not be whether we kept Kendall Graveman or not. What a ridiculous statement.

Why the fuck are you still talking to me? Your opinion means less than nothing to me. Go bitch to someone who actually cares...if such person actually exists.

There is zero chance that the Mariners are going to hit on every prospect and every trade. They are still going to need to be attractive to free agents and they need veterans. Dismissing the clubhouse issue is something I do not get.

This is very troubling. Jerry essentially admits that the deal was an ego thing because he wanted to say he traded Montero.
also did not want to be ......embarrassed.......for not being able to fix him...so...wanted to trade him...good going i say....best to save face...lolol
cuz he went and picked ..it up...so...he got rid of it...uuuccuuumm...ok..im good with it

Here is the thing that gets me more than anything.

Dipoto says Trade #1 must go down before we can complete accompanied trade in Trade #3 or that they are tied to one another. Why exactly? If we don't do Trade #1, we have Castillo replacing JT in the pen and still have Graveman. Toro doesn't replace anyone and his addition is only that, an addition. Nothing to do with Trade #3. Yes you could look at it as if Toro with his 3 years of MLB experience is replacing Shelton who may be up next year but who is unproven and his glove isn't his calling card so a utility position or a starting position is a long shot for next year at best and 2023 should be the year of Marte anyways. And what took 3 days to complete Part 2 if all was arranged before hand making sense of Part 1?

I dont think we dismiss it, but if its what kills the season I think there are bigger issues here. The timing sucked but at the same time I would definitely take Castillo over Graveman. Sometimes you have to make those type of moves
