Is Blake Snell getting moved? Still watching him closely. Skubal probably not going anywhere. Flaherty a nice piece for whomever gets him. Running out of time.

Still have about an hour for trade announcements, but the whispers from here are that he is staying.

Damn. Wow. He’s the kind of guy that could shift a pennant race on the proper team. I can see how he’s hard to acquire with that opt-out, though.

Crochet is another one that hasn’t moved yet. He seemed like a given a few days ago but then he complained and said he wanted an extension from any acquiring team.

Some of these trades don't make any sense to me. It's like teams are making moves just to appease their fans but the moves aren't going to improve their team.

He's had a shit season so far, other than that recent 15 strikeout performance. He's going to have to finish pretty strong if he plans on opting out. Otherwise, leaving $50 million on the table is pretty risky.

All these guys who waited all Winter and into the Spring to sign were not ready for the season. Snell is finally figuring it out and he’s as good as anyone when he’s right. If Snell goes to a contender and pitches well, he most definitely would opt out. He can get 3-4 years in the open market, I would think. Especially if he pitches well in a pennant race.

Crochet would be hard to trade. He has said that he won’t pitch in the post season without an extension. What contender wants to deal with that?

He has actually had 4 consecutive CY-level starts.

I know nothing about other teams’ prospects but that return seems underwhelming

What is your scouting report on Bresnahan?
Honestly I know very little bc he is so young. He is 19 so it is extremely difficult to scout that kid. Even reading some analysis from fans that know the farm system very well don’t know how to evaluate him at this point

I figure he is just a lottery ticket. But his pro numbers are nice, though I NEVER trust minor league numbers, especially at the lower levels and by super young kids.

I am very surprised that that trade happened, though. Cobb hasn’t pitched in forever, and he has been shut down numerous times in his comeback. He is loved by Giants fans, so I thought the Giants would try to capitalize on the last few starts of his career. But getting a kid who looks like a legit prospect for him, I am OK with it.

Not certain why the Guardians would want to take such a huge risk flier on a guy like him, though.

No. He only threw more than 83 pitches in one of those starts. Cy Young caliber pitchers go deeper in a pitch count than that, even in this era. If you can't count on him to go at least 90 pitches, he's not giving you a Cy Young performance.

Their farm system is loaded but yeah with Cobb’s recent injuries is a bit of a head scratcher. The rotation has been pretty bad so any help is needed. Won’t see how the deal looks in full for 3-4 years but nice for SF
