Random thoughts here.

Daniels still making FO moves.
The jump from AAA can be big.
With all these guys in the minors they should see next season who is ready.
You can only play 9 guys at a time and there are how many prospects?
Other than trying to get people in the stands (which I understand that this is a business} why sign FA’s when they will be near the end of their contracts when this team hopefully gets it together in 2 to 3 years.
The problem isn’t really Daniels. It’s Bob Simpson who is hands off and has given Daniels free reign since day one. Daniels was big on the guy he just let go and now he’s gone. Still in the middle of a rebuild going on 5 years. How may other MLB teams would put up with this crap?

I wonder if the Rangers would consider trading for a really good player who still has 3 years or so of control left, just to show free agents that they are serious about building a winner.

how many prospects would you give up and who to get this player? personally i would rather pick up the 2 or 3 i've mentioned on the free agent market

The rebuild just started in the last year. Nothing before this was a true rebuild, and I can't figure out how/why people think it was.

That would decimate the farm system even if the Rangers had a good track record of trading. Which they don't.

sign Syndergaard to a 5 or 6 year deal: that would cover his 27 thru 31 or 32 years which look to be the best years for him

I had no trade particular in mind. I was just wondering if any really good free agent would take this team seriously without that kind of a trade.

i guess it would depend on 2 things:
1. would it be legitimate offer or a low-ball one that JD is famous for

2. how much the player wants to play here. some used to use the Rangers just to get better offers

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet. Nick Snyder has been called up.

They have shown a tendency over the past year to trade prospects, so I wouldn't put it last them. We gave up good prospects for Lowe and for Howard.
