I feel great about going into 2022 with a rotation featuring (in no particular order) Hearn, Dunning, Allard, and Alexy. I don't see anyone supplanting them between now and then. Gives me some strong 2011 potential vibes. No typical ace/TORP types, just a bunch of dudes who give you quality starts and keep the team in games.
This is basically how I feel and why I said what I did about putting his name in ink.

Hate to continue beating this dead horse, but this is a good example of why I was OK saying goodbye to Gallo. He doesn't fit that mold.
He would have made a great defensive substitution in RF on that team though.

I really believe if Calhoun can come in and have a decent spring training and a freak injury free year he might just put up some good numbers
He needs a new zipcode while you can still get slightly more than a bag of used pucks...

Next year is another rebuilding year. We should see what we have in our young players as long as we don't bring them up too early. We certainly have 5 young starting pitchers who have proven this year that it isn't too early for them to be up here. Those guys should be able to show what they have next year, not because they are all locks to be solid rotation members for several years, but because we need to see if any of them can be.
Ok but I am guessing we do not get a top 5 draft pic for next year’s performance

No one should be guaranteed a starting spot for the next 7 months of baseball. Not Lowe, not Garcia, not IKF, not Arihara, not Yonny, not Dunning, not Allard, not Barlow, not Jung, not Winn, not Hearn, not Peters, not Otto, and not Alexy. No one. They are all in the same boat.

That being said, we need to have long leashes with them unless they have a replacement ready.
True but can’t hold on to them all

Hopefully not. When you are rebuilding you get off the ground at some point.

Yep, that is why I included, "unless they have a replacement ready."
I guess where I am coming from is we have solid young players to emerge and I don’t think we have roster spots for all. Maybe we see some minor league trades to fix this

Yeah, that is where the front office will have to be on their A-game. Deciding which ones to keep and which ones to send elsewhere.

With the Blue Jays having Reese McGuire I wonder if we could acquire catcher Alejandro Kirk from them.
