With Harris, Hauver and Saggese, I wonder if they are trying to push forward their development so they can catch up to guys like Smith, Crim and Foscue.

Vanasco mentioned in the podcast that he is ready for Fall Instructs so he can throw to real batters. I am really looking forward to him getting back and having him show up in the top 3-5 in the various rankings of our prospects. It will be great some day to have him, Leiter, Winn, and White all in our rotation.

To me, Sam Huff has become our biggest and most important question mark. I would imagine the upcoming rankings will vary widely on where they place him.

I agree one hundred percent. He is Gallo reinvented without the defense if he is not catching and playing 1B or DH. We can not overload team with big hitters who strike out alot
1 or 2 tops if OPS is high but not too many

To be fair, at this point in his career everyone thought Gallo would be a defensive liability to some extent. He hadn't even played in the OF, I don't believe.

2016 none in the OF
2018-21 most of his games were in OF

Pittsburgh was going to lose most of its games to the Reds, so they might as well get more out of their system in this one game. Lol.

Ok perhaps true and he does have a good arm. Not sure as agile. And he was listed last as DH and 1B. Thus the concern

If Rangers go 3-3, Pirates would have to go 2-4 to get #3.
If Rangers go 2-4, Pirates would have to go 1-5

I wouldn't worry about how they have him listed. We knew at the beginning of the year that he would not catch this year. They simply listed him as to what he has played all year.

I know some have completely given up on him catching, but I haven't reached that point yet. It is a real possibility that he becomes either a 1B or a corner outfielder at some point though.

My concern is his average. He hit better up here last year. He doesn't hit enough HR to get by with that batting average.

True he should be cleared to play his natural position of C. Would like to see him with the Rangers next season but that’s not likely
