KC is going to want prospects for Merrifield, not Sheffield and Montero castoffs.

Frazier went to SD but not for the big haul one might expect, so I think a couple low end guys outside the top 100 could get it done.

and with montero ..gone..maybe they should
but

Walton, Haggerty and Then should work. Gilbert, Hancock and Williamson are untouchable. Two people who aren’t being mentioned as trade bait are Even White and Tom Murphy.

Sign me up for that trade asap.

As far as Murphy, I'm not sure how much value he has, but one of he and Torrens should probably be sold. Torrens is hitting well but he sucks as a catcher. Is he really our DH going forward? I'd take all we can get for him while we can.

White is out for the rest of the year, not sure if he can even be traded.

The thing with Murphy, not saying the Royals would want him or have I honestly looked at their roster. But Murphy is cheap and the dog days are coming up and generally speaking this is when a backup catcher is the most valuable. No idea if KC would take a deal from the M’s if it doesn’t include a big prospect just hoping they would a collection of 4 or 5 prospects instead of one of the top 10.

I'm waiting for everyone to be snatched up and dipoto tells us "well, we tried". and the team gets no help as usual. You'll hear the Mariners name in every trade rumor but in the end nobody great is coming here. Maybe a couple of scrub trades that won't effect a thing.

That's how the Mariners roll. Prove me wrong and I'll be happy to eat my words but I don't think that's happening.

Ya I am guessing it will take a lot more than that to get Merrifield. Then could be part of it, but would be shocked to see Walton and/or Haggerty unless as throw-ins. I don't think it will take any of our top 5, but hearing names like DeLoach, Stoudt, Macko, Perez, Shenton, Case type players. Basically #10 through #30 guys.

My biggest prediction is we end up with Hosmer from SD. They are trying to unload his contract and we have room and need at 1B. If the cost was low as predicted, I would take him on.

Not a rumor in any sense, but Trae Turner might be available per reports. Bats are said to not be looking to sign him long term. I would love to have him at 2B.
