I'm trying to find out what the minimum sentence for obstruction of justice is in Massachusetts. If that's the crime of which he's convicted, I doubt he gets the minimum. Obstruction in a murder case is a huge deal.

That's if he isn't convicted of murder of course. It seems pretty realistic that either he cops a plea & against a buddy or a buddy else cops a plea against him.

By the way, isn't it a crime in Massachusetts to discharge a fire arm without cause? Hernandez shot a dude in the arm / eye.

This all unfolded a lot like OJ Simpson. They tried to play it off like he wasn't a suspect and then you see things like 'destroyed home surveillance, phone, etc' then you know that if he isn't personally guilty, he knows the guilty party and is covering for that person.

I'm just glad this happened before my fantasy draft

Since I go through my sports life looking at things from a draft perspective and because I don't know a lick about how this will go in the courts or with the police I will share this.

Daniel Jeremiah, who was an area scout for 3 different NFL teams, and is now a draft analyst for the NFL Network, is another draft voice that confirms there was concerns with Hernandez before the draft.

He mentioned the failed drug tests, said that he was a very immature kid coming out, and there was concern about him being a very influenced individual. He also said that he talked to people that felt if he went to a team with strong leadership that he would take well to that and fit in and become a follower, but not a leader.

He also was asked about what some teams thought of him back then. He said he reached out to a team who said they had a 1st-round grade on him. He talked to other teams who dropped him to the 4th round because of character concerns. Another team had him as a high 2nd-round pick on tape but they dropped him to a 6th-round pick on their board because of the character issues. He didn't have anybody tell him that they took him completely off their board because of the issues, however.

Just thought that was worth passing around because Jeremiah is an absolute delight to listen to in a world where there are so many awful draft voices out there.

Yeah, because that's the most important part of this whole story......your fantasy team.

Not really sure why... if he had the insight to destroy his cellphone and security system, surely he would have flushed any possible drugs down the toilet or dump them somewhere else.

I figured the dogs were there today in case he decided to run for it when they executed the arrest warrant.

Most police dogs aren't limited to drugs. They can detect all sorts of odors on clothing or various other objects. If they found some evidence at the crime scene, dogs might be able to track down something in the house that is connected.

If they're drug-sniffing dogs, they might be able to pick up a residue even if he flushed 'em? If that's the case, it could confirm what police are thinking & direct their next moves.

Aaron Hernandez - TE - Patriots

Police are in scuba gear searching water near Aaron Hernandez's house on Monday.

Like most everything else in the case, what the police are searching for is a mystery. Per reporter Rich Hollenberg, police have "set up a tent in the area," and appear to be settling in for a long day. It has now been six days since the body of Odin Lloyd was found. To this point, neither Hernandez nor the two associates alleged to have been with him at the time of Lloyd's murder have been charged with a crime despite the torrent of searches at Hernandez's home.
