Sounds like the next Trout. He bats right-handed, has some power, plays CF, is out of options. Only 37 ML PA's

Trout only wishes he could be the next Michael Reed.I was trying to temper expectations, but yeah basically.
I think he to do it if needed. I did not read that as he WOULD start in Sacto. Just that he was willing to.(Color me confused...)
Why do you keep Vogt in the list for opening day? Didn't the Giants announce a couple of days ago that Vogt agreed to open the season in Sacramento, because he isn't 100% yet?
But consider that Bochy said that Vogt has not even caught a spring training game yet. No way he gets on the OP roster for SF.I think he to do it if needed. I did not read that as he WOULD start in Sacto. Just that he was willing to.
But the roster crunch is putting me more in the Garcia camp.
My latest guess on the OP roster:
Infielders (6): Joe (26), Panik (28)
I’m not for or against it, but I legit have no idea what the FO is doing.
Giants acquire Kratz from Brewers.
Same, I know he’s been laid a daunting task at his feet. No judgement here, more just confusion. I’m willing to give him a long leash.Looking at it purely from a player-to-player comparison, the bats are about equal (utter shit), but defensively Kratz is top-tier, whereas Rivera is upper-middle.
In the grand scheme of things, though, this feels extremely marginal and pointless. We'll see I guess. I'm willing to give FZ a couple years to work his plan.
Its a real head scratcher. Don't just compare the two but also look at who the Giants lose in this - Hinojosa and possibly Jose Lopez. What is the point?Looking at it purely from a player-to-player comparison, the bats are about equal (utter shit), but defensively Kratz is top-tier, whereas Rivera is upper-middle.

And it feels like, from my perspective, that he's just doing transactions for the sake of being active, because there isn't much he really can do right now. Its like the card player who just keeps shuffling the deck excessively because he can. Sometimes these moves marginally improve the roster, sometimes they marginally make the roster worse. Most of them do nothing but trade out names.Same, I know he’s been laid a daunting task at his feet. No judgement here, more just confusion. I’m willing to give him a long leash.

I don't understand why Garcia gets the boot. He played well last September and this spring. He's young, he's got options, he is somewhat versatile. Why give up a marginal middle infield prospect (Hinojosa) and risk losing starting pitching depth (Lopez), two areas that are thin in this system, for an old, out of options catcher who is very slightly better than the guy that was just jettisoned from camp? This one is extra confusing. I mean Kratz is a great backup, but for this team it seems odd.
