Well the whole ET returning punts thing didn't take too long too long to blow up in our faces. Those were two punts that he needed to wave a fair catch on and he tried to return them both. If we keep having him out there shit like this is going to happen and he's going to get injured after someone blows him up on a legal hit because he has no idea what he's doing.

That was 100% on ET. He should have been screaming fair catch on that one and just backed off of it.

It was all on ET... why he's trying to catch that and not fair catch plus CALL off the blocker is beyond me... NO, it's not. ET is not a punt returner, he has basically zero experience doing it yet Carroll went FULL DERP this year and appointed his STAR FREE SAFETY as a punt returner.

I don't even know what to say, but I'm glad this happened now then against a division rival or a playoff game. ET should not be returning kicks.

Exactly, Sherman isn't looking at the ball, so the only thing he knows is he's blocking. Sometimes coverage gets blocked into a returner, it happens all the time.

How so? It's a short kick and when Sherman didn't hear ET screaming fair catch he has to assume it's returnable when it obviously wasn't. That's 100% on Thomas and the reason it happened is because he doesn't have the fundamentals to return punts. It's painfully obvious he shouldn't be doing it.
