If the NBA were re-doing the Top 50 players of All-Time, who would you add to the list they made in 1996? If other, please list.

According to this list, 12 players would be eliminated:

Nate "Tiny" Archibald (52)
Dave Bing (57)
James (Un)Worthy (58)
Hal Greer (59)
Pete Maravich (60)
Sam Jones (65)
Robert Parish (67)
Bill Sharman (70)
Paul Arizin (71)
Lenny Wilkins (72)
Bill Walton (74)
Dave DeBusschere (76)

Bonus Question: Any one on the above list who should stay on the list over one of the players in the poll (all added or close)?

I'd remove everyone on that list except James Worthy and Pete Maravich. Additionally, I'd remove Bill Russell and Scottie Pippen and add Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and The Big Fundamental.

:L Totally forgot about Bill Russell and Lakers rivalry. I was wondering why you mentioned Bill Russell in the other thread. I just thought it was a joke.

Paul Pierce is 77th, Ray Allen is 79th, Chris Webber was 80th, Dwight Howard is 86th, Tim Hardaway was 87th, Chris Mullin was 88th, Mitch Richmond was 89th, Mutumbo was 95th, Paul Gasol is 96th, Tracy McGrady was 97th, Grant Hill was 98th, Vince Carter is 99th, and Kevin Johnson was 102. Carmelo Anthony is 105th, Chris Paul is 107th, Tom Chambers (former Jazzman) was 120th, Jerry Sloan was 179th.

There are 500 so I'm going to stop now.

Has nothing to do with that (other than Wilt Chamberlain dominating him his entire career).

"Mr. Scholl's" (as Kareem liked to call him) just had two many injuries in the NBA to be considered.

Kevin Durant already belongs on that list.

That's very reactionary this soon, though he's easily twice the player Bill Russell was.

Yeah, Bill Walton is a top 50 talent but not a top 50 career. Nash would get in over him and Nash only played about 5 games of defense in his life

Darn fingers. I misspelled Nowitzki. And yes, I forgot Durant because he wasn't on that list of 500 best players. They only included players that had played five years at least by 2011 (when the list was made).

Yeah, Bill Walton is a top 50 talent but not a top 50 career.

That is a true statement. Very unfortunate with the injuries.

Early in his Blazer career when he was healthy he was one of the bigs the N NA has or ever will see.

Ask Kareem, whom I consider the best hit man ever. Those two had some amazing battles.

77 West Finals. Omg. What a performance by Big Red.

We were in West LA during UCLA's dominant years (I was even born at UCLA and my Dad worked at the Riviera Country Club close to Westwood) and my Dad, like most of LA at that time, was a huuuuuuuge UCLA basketball fan. His favorite player was Dave Meyers, but if you get him started talking about those teams, he'll tell you that Big Red was the greatest college basketball player ever. It's amazing to watch those teams and how the other four players on the team took off when Big Red got a rebound and before he hit the ground the outlet pass was already gone.

Umm, because the game has never had a player do what he does at his size. Durant and Lebron are in the Top 50 all time right now.
