Sure, way less teams. And rosters were shorter.
But recently teams use 50-60 guys a season. And average career is prolly 5 years.
Never would’ve guessed that 5% of all the MLB players in history have appeared this year. It’s shocking. I was shocked.
The better way to judge is not how many players have played this season but how many players have played their first career games. I would imagine that is a relatively low number.
