Twice. Some guy had A 61 game hitting streak while playing for the Seals. Legendary San Francisco team.

But that didn’t activate the MVP clause, so I call BS…

It also helped that they were 5 1/2 out of first place at the beginning of the streak and up 7 games over the Indians when the streak ended…..

My only point is that maybe too much weight is being given to MVPs awarded to players. It says something about the players, true, but it doesn't mean the player was the best in the league that year. Yogi Berra is the best example I've seen so far. By measure of best seasons, he was not even top 5 in any of those 3 seasons.
