No argument. But Father Time is undefeated.

True, but the problem isn't that everyone gets old, it's when they stop being effective. There have been running backs who easily make it to 32, and even some who made it to 37. If the deal for Lynch is 2 years, the question being asked is whether he can be effective for 2 more years (through 30). Besides, since we don't know any details yet, the deal could just be to get him back for 2015, and the second year is a cut bait year (high salary, low guarantee).

Totally fair. Hopefully we'll soon have some official news. This is dragging on.....

Well this whole argument may be moot. Perhaps Lynch retires. If that's the case at least we can feel good about the Seahawks effort to keep him playing.

Ginn is not the answer. He is a poor WR & KR. His only asset would be PR(s) & even then he takes a lot of fair catches on balls he could return. He returned 26 while fair catching 24. I guess if your team had the luxury & cap space for a strictly PR guy, I would sign him.

But in my opinion, he is not much better than Walters. And Walters probably contributes more in other areas.

Yeah, I agree. Ginn just isn't that good. While the Seahawks could use a upgrade they need to look at the draft for the answer.

I think that we really do need someone for returns, and a late round pick would be a great way to get one (especially cheap). Maybe someone like this could be had in the 7th or undrafted.

Jamarcus Nelson - WR Alabama-Birmingham 5'10" 160 lbs.
Too small to be anything but a slot receiver on offense, but had 6 return tds in last two years in college and averaged nearly 40 yards per kick off return.

Sounds interesting. Might be able to pick him up after the draft, which would even be better.

supposedly he's just a quick little guy who is estimated to have sub 4.3 speed. He is what he is, and that's mostly a kick returner with some possibility to be a slot guy. I'd give him a shot over Walters.

Lynch is definitely a unique RB but his back problems are a bit unique as well and I prefer no to give him a huge pay raise with that looming over our heads... He'll continue to miss more time due to his back because his back isn't getting any younger or better... His style of running will not allow his back to rest...

Since people are talking about KR, how about Seattle making a play for Jacoby Jones?

I brought up Ginn, and as soon as I saw Jones cut I felt he was a much better option. That would be a great pickup.

Staying on the returner train, Reggie Bush just got cut. Anyone think he still has returner value?

I do, especially punts with his good hands. Still a good receiver out of the backfield too. If for whatever reason Lynch is not here, a backfield of Bush-Michael-Turbin could produce well enough to keep us competitive.

I agree. Especially in a roll that focus' on returning first, RB gadget second. Keep him healthy, and we can do fairly well. I wouldn't mind adding him even with Lynch in the mix, cut Walters.

Damn I hate to sound like a negative nancy, but Bush was crap last year.

297 yards with a 3.9 average, he's only 29, but looked washed up last year. Lets go young with a punt returner.

Personally I think Jacoby Jones would be the best of the bunch. Just creating conversation for what I believe to be one of our biggest holes.

That is correct. He shares the same jersey # as Mr. Unitas.

Will Blackmon just got cut. As a stopgap CB I'd presume we can do worse. Then again, he just got cut by Jacksonville.
