Dodgers will likely rent him regardless, they are dead set on buying a Wold Championship

I hear ya.....but buying it hasn't been as successful recently as it once was.

What do the Dodgers have to give the Sox anyway? Or is that just a pretense to begin with?

No idea what the Dodgers have beyond the crowded outfield and Pederson

Really? Explain how better conditioning would have had an effect on Holland falling over his dog, or Perez having TJ surgery, or Adduci breaking his finger (twice) please.

How about Profar getting hurt in his sleep, Harrison's bad back, Kouzmanoff's bad back for 8 years, or Ogando who has been an injury in waiting since 2010? Moreland's foot had nothing to do with conditioning, nor did the fact Fielder showed up hurt.

Honestly don't think it's an internal conditioning problem. And keep in mind, Beltre has been the healthiest he's been in several seasons.

We have had a ton more injuries than that. I mean whay could it hurt if we did. Its more precautionary than blaming anything. Its always good to get better in all areas.

To expand on that. I think TJ surgery is debatable as well as.a few of the other injuries you mentioned. There are also ways to teach people certain approaches that help avoid injury. Will players still get hurt? Sure. But perhaps you can slow down the injury frequency.

If injuries continue on the pace we have, we are going to make history on the numbers of games missed due to players on the DL if not total number of injuries in a season. You can chalk this all up to bad luck if you want and investigate nothing but that sure would seem incompetent if you ask me. You have to at least do some sort of internal investigation and see if there is anyway you can improve things. Historical numbers of any sort don't come without cause.

Are you really of the opinion that we should just continue business as usual and this is just some sort of fluke? Are you against any sort of internal investigation whether it be strength and conditioning or maybe even just a more general research on some sort of injury prevention research? What could it hurt? It seems to me our club is calling out for a need for that.

At the end of the day, this is a buisness and this year the buisness is taking a huge hit due to injury. In any other buisness, when you take a hit due something, you put time, money, research, and effort into improving that something so you can avoid or mininalize it in the future.

Kinesiology is s huge field and it has a ton to offer us to help out with these sort of things. Also with the right funding, they could help us find new things. People don't get hurt in there sleep for no reason, this does actually have something to do with how they take care of themselves.

I highly doubt our strength and condition program has changed much, if at all from 2010 and 2011.

They have a ton of pitching as well. They'd have no problem at all completing it

Then why go for Lester if they have a ton? Trying to turn a bunch of goods into a single great? Long shot on that one with lester.

They have so much pitching that they don't have enough spots for the young guys, especially cuz they want a ring THIS YEAR. They have Kershaw, Ryu, and Beckett signed long term, Chad Billinsley coming back, Greinke (who is likely to be long term) and Haren. They have no room for all of their pitching prospects. They have like 4 good ones, and they are expendable cuz they have nowhere to put them. Similar to the logjam we had up the middle last year

That could be very well true. But when you do the investigation, you consider that. You consider everything and try to flesh out all the variables and correlate them with different lengths of time. It could be that our program is great initially but wears players down quicker. It could turn out to be a simple change in a routine. I'm not saying I have any idea what it is but I think its worth investigation and research. I also really doubt there is one it, there is a combination of things out there I am sure we could add to our programs that would help reduce injury. I think if you run a multimillion to billion dollar buisness, its worth the investment to explore alternatives for any club. Especially if the research/investigation can come at a very small fraction of the cost of losing one of your best employees/players.

I didn't figure they would or that wouldn't be the most likely landing spot people have been talking about all week. I just don't follow other teams depth near as much as the Rangers and I didn't really feel like looking it up

Jeez, do they even need him?

I'm actually ok with them going after him. In fact - I hope THEY GET HIM.

Deplete that farm some more... and Lord knows they arent going to pony up the money to extend him.
