Overall, i'm a happy NYR fan!!

Some how I'm thinking Snow is not such a terrible GM that he will trade the best players they have had in almost 20 years to their biggest rival..... but we can dream.

There, it did actually happen. Need to read up on those two. Jonathan Marchessault is a fast kid with a bunch of heart and a scoring touch. And he ranks third in that discipline on the Jackets behind Calvert and Atkinson. Hope he gets his shot over there. Because with the third/4th liners we have, it wasn't going to happen here.

Oh. And this probably had a lot to do with it:

Marko could very well make this team next year. A year that could see up to five new faces (Wennberg, Rychel, Bjorkstrand, Melart and Dano) on the Jackets at some point.

Apparently Gillis asked for Maatta as part of the return for Kesler. He's basically untouchable, so it's easy to see how that deal didn't happen.

That may not be such a bad thing, Pouliot didn't show me all that much at the WJHC tourney in January.

Pouliot was close to making the NHL team out of camp himself, I know that. Right after the deadline it seemed that most Pens fans thought the reason the trade didn't happen is because Shero didn't want to give up Pouliot, but it's very interesting that his name didn't even come up. Gillis has every right to ask for Maatta, but that could've easily been the moment Shero saw that Kesler wasn't being moved. I'm fairly confident that every NHL front office understands how highly thought of Olli is now.
