Boom or bust

If he can be as productive in the NFL as he was in college this is a great pick. If not, waiting until the 5th means you didn’t waste much.

Cleveland doesn’t have a great track record drafting QBs, though…

If I was him .The browns would not have the chance to retain me . 0 chance. It is not like they have Ever developed a QB. Since this new Browns franchise they are awful ...Why they in need of a QB ? they deserve being bottom feeders . they are always top pickers and all the do is suck at it.

If you wanted him you should have paid him . otherwise . why bother . if you have no belief in a player why would you expect to Retain him . And The NFL teams should have rained in popps and told him to shut up or expect no draft.

we just turned a sixth round pick into the last pick of the sixth round and something else in the seventh. So now we have two pics left instead of one. I’m not even sure who we traded with.

Offensive line? Linebacker? Who’s the last pick of the six round?
Seth McLaughlin from Ohio State looks like a football player!

We picked up Caleb Lohner TE from Utah with our last pick. And in the spot where ESPN usually puts their stats, they said he also plays basketball so I’m guessing we’re not expecting much

Julius Thomas came from a basketball background. I'm also not expecting much but glad we added a tight end.

2nd straight year where our last pick didn't excited me...

For what it is worth the Vele last year turned out well. So let's try to keep that trend.

We were not going to pick at #20 We were trading down for TreVeyon Henderson

Henderson was the RB I figured Denver wanted the most.

Payton loves RB's who can block and catch and nobody can block like Henderson at the RB position.

Shows you how good Barron is. Couldn't pass. We knew we weren't gonna get Henderson once we passed on him and I believe we loved Henderson to the 10th degree, what's the say about how we feel about Barron? :)

This was definitely a case where the fit was TOO OBVIOUS. Henderson would have been amazing.

That said.

Like you said, nobody expected Barron, including the front office. It blew up our draft strategy a bit, which might explain why Payton was willing to sign off on the trade downs. If Barron is as good as we think he might be and Harvey hits as well, this draft will be an A on those alone.

Barron was what Albright called a purple sticker player which i assume is top tier.
CB is a cornerstone position.
i’m glad he fell and Paytons made the right choice imo

In trading card industry that indicates a card that is rare to find.

We talk about how good he is and everything, but for him to fall to 20... I don't know exactly how it happened. He is probably a tier under a true "lockdown" corner, but he excels at zone. If VJ is the coach he thinks he is, we'll see coverages most teams could only dream about.

I think Barron fell because there were certain positions people thought would dry up quickly so they got taken early. OL for example had 5 of those picks in front of us. DL also had a big run early on with 6 going before the Broncos pick. I think the other reason is that Barron's best spot in the NFL might be the Nickel Corner spot. NFL teams are looking more for elite guys on the outside if they have a choice. Barron can play outside just fine, but he is a hair shorter than you like and his age being another factor probably led to him being lower than what the talent suggests.
