Will Trevino hit at the MLB level? I know he is supposed to be a defense 1st guy but we have had too many catchers that cant hit
Hopefully, Huff will be here by this time two years from now. Maybe Trevino will make a good backup eventually. Will Trevino hit at the MLB level? I know he is supposed to be a defense 1st guy but we have had too many catchers that cant hit

May be what happened in case of OdorSeems we over-value guys like Trevino or our evaluators are too high on most of our prospects
He has slipped a lot in the evaluations over the past couple of years.Seems we over-value guys like Trevino or our evaluators are too high on most of our prospects
Actually in 2013 he tore it up at Myrtle Beach where he was leading the league in doubles as it is a hard place to hit HRs and then at Frisco when he was called up. In fact I remember he went crazy at Frisco as he hit 8 doubles, 2 triples and 6 HRs and hit over .300 in just 30 games. Then his 1st 3 years in the Bigs his average increased with 2016 hitting being his best at .271 with 33 HRs. But the next he hit 30 HRs but his average was like it is this year which makes you wonder if he fell in love with the HR too much. Even last year he hit over .250 with 18 HRs when he missed over 30 games and I would be okay with that average compared to what he is hitting this year. I really can't help think he has gotten away from an approach that was successful for him back in 2013-2016.May be what happened in case of Odor

I have noticed where he has been really bad. Seems a few pitchers have stunk it up once they were traded to contending teams.

Might as well get over their angst about it. I am good if we can groom someone to take his place like this Solak guy. Until then he will be playing. I also hope Guzman finds his stroke as he has shown he has in the Minors before because he is a quality 1st baseman who is left handed which is preferred. I hope we find a place for Santana but it may need to be in the OF as he is not a good 1st baseman. We have a lot of things to determine and now is the time to find out and prepare guys in the minors in case those on the roster now are not getting it done. There is no point on people freaking out when someone goes 0 for whatever for a while either as it happens. I am looking forward to what happens down the road with this team and this is just a part of the process. So as much as I followed Odor in the past I am good with a young replacement.A lot of ranger fans are more than ready for them to go in another direction at 2nd base.
True but I also noticed trades with other teams have blown up in their faces. Guys like Greene, Dyson, Cashner and so on. Reminds me of some of our moves with Jeffries and Dempster. Once the heat was on they fall apart. It used not to be this way that made us a desirable trade partner
