So far there are three of us who replied saying Crim should already be up. Along with my other comment about Ornelas, those make up the 4 comments thus far. Lol
I am ok with a Ornelas as a pure utility player
But during September I want to see Foscue Duran and Crim.
Maybe Harris but was not overly impressed with him when I watched him in Frisco 2 years ago

Thanks......So what's your take on what to do/or not to do for 2025?
Keep him. He doesn't cost us very much. I think his contract this year is $4,75 mill and next year $9.25 mill. In 2026 he is arbitration eligible and a free agent in 2027. He will probably never hit for a high average but the past 3 years has driven a lot of runs. Plus he still has a great arm.

If they can make a decent trade I am willing to let him go. I felt that way a year ago up until he was a hero in the postseason. They are up against it budgetwise so I am okay saving money by replacing him and Lowe and spending on the pen and maybe another bat.

Pretty much my take on him, and where we're at with him. There's not much downside to continuing on and see what happens next, from a production standpoint. We do have options for the long term.

Hopefully, we will see a lot of that from Jung next year. I still feel Jung, Langford and Carter will give us a lot next year.

I am not completely sold on Carter yet. I need to see more of him in the majors and if he can improve from the left side. I love the guy and hope he does but I am tapping on the brakes for now.

I am sold on Carter as much as I was the other two when those two first came up. To me, it would be extremely odd for Carter to do as well last year in the most stressful two months in baseball and not be the real thing. If he fails to be a successful baseball player, it would be one of the oddest turn of events that I have ever witnessed in this sport.

Here are 3 batting averages by a left handed Ranger batter against left handed pitching. Can anyone guess who the owner of each set of numbers are?

.118
.120
.304

I guess they are limiting Acker's innings because he has already thrown 25 more innings than last year.

This kid has been really impressive this year while flying under the radar. This is only his 4th start at High-A ball, so he probably goes back to that level to begin 2025, but I don't imagine he will stay there long.

From Chase Fird:

The Texas Rangers are promoting RHP Alejandro Rosario to Frisco (Double-A).

Rosario had a 2.40 ERA along with 60 strikeouts in 41.1 innings for the Hickory Crawdads.

Evan Carter has to to have one of the first two. Not sure about the 2nd one.
Josh Smith has hit well against lefties so he is my pick for the 304

I do as well. Still wonder where the team would be had Jung not got injured. I thought he was going to have a big year.
Atleast we got to see the improvement of Josh Smith. He can play outfield and can give Jung a rest at 3b once in awhile.

Actually Carter's is .081. But that is in 37 official MLB at bats. I love the guy and he has great tools but I am concerned with how he has done against lefties. Not just at the MLB level as that is a small sample size. In the minors in 2022 he slashed 310/394/505 vs righties and 203/366/367 vs lefties in 79 ABs. In 2023, before being called up, he was 297/427/495 vs RHP and 243/338/257 vs LHP. So it has been going on for a while but he is young as he just turned 22 and that can and I hope will change.

Yeah I am a fan of Carter too. Like you said he just turned 22 so he just needs more at bats against lefties. First things first he needs to stay healthy. Hoping he comes back next year reloaded and ready to roll.

I can see White, but not Ornelas. We don't really have anyone beating down the door to be called up for the pen.

White has had more success as of late in the pen, so I am okay with that. I am not holding my breath that White will impress or anything, though.
He has a 5.51 era at AAA. He has no success at all in the majors. He can’t even pitch well in the minors. He will get hammered again if he pitches at the major league level.

I wonder if the Rangers knew the extent of Carter’s injury and they weren’t telling everyone all bad it was.
