The Rockies were good for what ailed the Rangers. Now it is time to see if the improvements the Rangers showed against the Rockies will help them in a four game series against a good team.

Sure, the Rockies are bad and it seems like we should have swept them., but the Rangers did show they could take care of business. The offense has shown signs of improvement, but they still left a lot of runners on base.

Hopefully, the biggest improvement the Rangers hitters did is in their heads. They needed some success, even if it was against a very weak club, in order to break the strain of the mental anguish they had brought on themselves. I think Bfett Boone has helped in that area as well.

Now it is time to take that renewed confidence and put it into play against the Astros. Hopefully, we can continue to improve offensively. Hunter Brown will put us to the test right away. Let's hope deGrom can pitch a gem and make it into or through the seventh inning.

Hopefully, the bullpen will be back to almost full strength this evening, and everyone, with the exception of Boushley, will be available.

Meanwhile, it will be fun to continue to monitor Alejandro Osuna in Round Rock. Also, Abimelec Ortiz has started heating up in Frisco. Speaking of Frisco, Mitch Bratt pitches for them Saturday night. He is putting together a very fine season.

Npw, let's go get these Astros and see if we can win 3 of 4.

It is time for my latest installment of who I consider to be the top 30 prospects in the Rangers system. I like to do three of these each year. I do the first one now, so I can see how guys are adjusting to a higher level.

A lot of rankings come out in spring training, but to me that is not enough time to see how things have changed from after the previous season. I like to wait a few weeks into the season to do my first one. Then my second one comes out a couple of weeks after the draft in July. Lastly, I do a third one after the completion of the Arizona Fall League.

This list actually has 33 names on it although I still call it a top 30 list. One reason for doing so is because both Rocker and Harris are really close to officially no longer being eligible for prospect status since they are getting close to enough big league service time to lock in this year as their rookie season. Leiter has already done that, so he is not eligible for the list. Another reason for adding three extra names is because there really isn't much difference in how I feel about the bottom ten or so guys on the list.

2025 Early Season Top 30 Rangers Prospects

2 Kumar Rocker
3 Alejandro Osuna

It's not that I hate the Astros or anything but I HATE the Astros. I really hope we win 3 games in this series. Both teams have quality starters and they have two closers. So we need to be ahead going into the late innings.

Seems like we used to do well against Brioen despite a very good year he has had since last May

I hope they split, that will show them they're on the right track but still need to improve some more if they want to make another run at the trophy...

Not a Rangers fan or hater but I hate The Astros, I also bet a three teamer today with Reds -1 1/2, Twins +114 and Rangers -127. I need this money. Go Rangers! Reds and Twins easily won and covered and we need The Rangers to do the same, please
