No More "Bullpen Failure" - maybe
The Rockies were good for what ailed the Rangers. Now it is time to see if the improvements the Rangers showed against the Rockies will help them in a four game series against a good team.
Sure, the Rockies are bad and it seems like we should have swept them., but the Rangers did show they could take care of business. The offense has shown signs of improvement, but they still left a lot of runners on base.
Hopefully, the biggest improvement the Rangers hitters did is in their heads. They needed some success, even if it was against a very weak club, in order to break the strain of the mental anguish they had brought on themselves. I think Bfett Boone has helped in that area as well.
Now it is time to take that renewed confidence and put it into play against the Astros. Hopefully, we can continue to improve offensively. Hunter Brown will put us to the test right away. Let's hope deGrom can pitch a gem and make it into or through the seventh inning.
Hopefully, the bullpen will be back to almost full strength this evening, and everyone, with the exception of Boushley, will be available.
Meanwhile, it will be fun to continue to monitor Alejandro Osuna in Round Rock. Also, Abimelec Ortiz has started heating up in Frisco. Speaking of Frisco, Mitch Bratt pitches for them Saturday night. He is putting together a very fine season.
Npw, let's go get these Astros and see if we can win 3 of 4.
