Rocker one night. Bradford the next night. And then Leiter the third night. Then we will let Teodo take care of the 4th night. DeGrom can hold the fort until Rosario catches up to them.
I like it. A potentially 100% homegrown starting rotation right around the corner, talk about exciting.
Super talented, affordable, and frees up the budget to spend in other areas of need. THAT is what Texas needs to be set up for a long-tern championship window.

From Tepid:

I’ve watched and over-thought every pro start Jack has made, and I can say this is his best stretch since being drafted. He’s almost always been (frustratingly) in the 60% or below range for strikes thrown. Tonight: 74%. Last few starts, very similar. Looks loose and relaxed.

From Tepid:

Dustin Harris was just pulled from the Round Rock game and I’m not sure why. Also, I’m not watching the big league team much so I don’t punch my couch cushions. Did an outfielder get hurt today or something?
From John Moore:

Dustin Harris is already on the 40 man. He was 2 for 3 tonight before he was replaced in the 6th inning by Kellen Strahm. Game is a blowout. But nobody else was substituted for.

He's pitching like a guy who has a ton of confidence, just like at Vandy.

Be nice if Rocker, who have felt better about over Leiter from the beginning, and Leiter pan out at the MLB level but I am a little on the cynical side after so many we thought would be MLB talent only to be disappointed. But it looks promising so far.

Who are your top 4 or 5 guys as far as them being promising and who then disappointed?

Right off hand, I thought of Thomas Diamond and Luke Jackson.

Who comes to mind for you?

DVD always comes to mind. So much was made about them. Danks and Volquez were above average with other organizations and we got Josh Hamilton I believe for Volquez. Brian Bohannon was disappointing as well.

Latest one I thought that would be good is Owen White who was dominant for a bit and then injury and lost velo has derailed

Wow, Bohannon. That is a guy I haven't thought about in a long time. I looked him up and he is 56 years old now.

These 2 though have the credentials and have even show to be legit.

What they have right now stuffwise already plays in the majors
Pretty optimistic
Think most what was off was in Leiter head

I think our collective disappointments so far are the following

Brian Bohannon
Thomas Diamond
Luke Jackson
Owen White

The difference in those last 3 guys and Jack Leiter is that they flamed out at AAA or before. Diamond eventually had a good year for the Cubs in AAA, but he was 27 years old by then. Bohannon was very successful at AAA.

Leiter's ERA in his first season at AAA is much better than Jackson's or White's. Diamond only had success at AAA at an advanced age.

Bohannon was a true bust that showed promise in AAA, but that was so long ago that he was born in the same decade as I was. Lol

Bottom line is, I think we have a good reason to be optimistic about Leiter, even if we have been let down before. He is having good success in his first season at AAA, and that hasn't been very common at all with our top pitching prospects of late.

We could have a future rotation of

Rocker
Leiter
Bradford
Teodo
Rosario

If one of those guys falters, we could turn to one of these guys:

Bratt
Acker
Drake
Garcia
Tiger
Davadillo
Lobus
Bonzagni

By this time next year we might have an overall top 5 pick from next year's draft in one of those lists as well.

I didn't even include Brock Porter who has been under wraps for several weeks or Jose Corniell, who will be starting to throw off the mound again about this time next year.

I'm old. LOL! I remember watching Bohannon pitching for Houston North Shore in the state finals.

Cueto started for the Angels and pitched into the 7th giving up 3 runs. Seems like the Angels like to to rummage through the Ranger’s dumpster.
