Me too on the Graveman BS. Yes I would take that trade back in hindsight. I took it back live and it never worked out. It was bad for baseball and karma reasons...lol.

I still can't agree with you on the Slocumb deal. That was way too high a price for a mediocre closer. And yes I know the Dan Wilson argument, but that doesn't mean you give them away for a bum.

Twenty years later, after helping one of those teams get over the hump, the Mariners are still waiting for their first pennant. And while there are a lot of reasons for that, here’s hoping you’ll take a moment to remember them making one of the worst trades in baseball history. It didn’t make that much sense at the time, and it doesn’t make that much sense now, even if you spend a thousand words or so trying to make sense of it. Did you know that Slocumb had allowed 95 baserunners in 46 ⅔ innings before the trade?

I know you don’t agree with that deal, and I know I’m doing mental gymnastics to defend Woody. But I definitely won’t say it wasn’t a bad trade. I was wrong but least that and the Cruz Jr trade the Mariners “bought” cause they had a need and were trying to win. With complete hindsight Jerry sold and tried pretending it was a win/win. We have the complete results that it didn’t work out.

Sorry, if you know something will did not work out and you say you would still do it the same then I can’t trust you.

My bad, I meant only the 2nd half. It was just a ball washing of Jerry. Then they attacked the fans for being toxic cause the 54% memes and questioning Jerry’s process. The big one that pissed me off is he said he would make the Graveman trade. Say what you want about the deal but with hindsight I can’t take someone seriously that they care about winning if they would still do it.

I understand Woody’s process in getting Healthcliff Slocumb and have always say well to be fair. But I can admit it was wrong with hindsight. I just dont get how someone could say they would still do the Graveman trade.
