We drafted a great player in Wyatt Langford, but Walker Jenkins is going to be very special as well.

Everyone has Wyatt Langford penciled into our lineup except some of the local media.
I feel he should be penciled in. I could be wrong of course but I just think he's one of those special players that come along every so often.

I feel pretty much the same. If he is what I think he will be, look out. Can't wait to see this kid.

Former Ranger, Connor Sadzeck, signs with the Pirates on a minor league deal.

From Jeff Wilson:

“With today’s ruling, the Texas Rangers and Diamond Sports have officially finalized their linear broadcast rights deal for the 2024 season,” the club said in a statement. “We are happy to have an agreement in place and look forward to partnering with Bally Sports Southwest for what should be a very exciting year for our club.

“At the same time, we will continue to work for ways to enhance and expand how our fans will be able to view Texas Rangers baseball in the future.”

The last part of the quote is the critical one: The Rangers are looking at all avenues for a future rights partner, preferably one that will allow all of their fans to watch their games. Another season on Bally won’t permit that, but the end is near.

Also, from Jeff Wilson:

The Rangers’ first Bally game of the regular season will be their second game, March 30. Bally will also produce four spring training games: March 14, March 16, March 18 and March 25.

So, where can fans watch them?

Bally says they can be found via cable providers Charter Spectrum, Comcast Xfinity and Cox, among others; satellite on DirecTV; and DirecTV Stream and Fubo. Live-streaming on the Bally Sports app is available when viewers authenticate with their pay TV provider.

Fans can visit GetMyHomeTeams.com to find available providers in their zip code.

Afraid they lose access if they ruffle things like with Leody. Kind of sad.

Wyatt though has to blow everyone away in ST to get that shot

Funny thing is he might

so what would you do?
Try to defer money this year and pay out extra after season is over. Monty is not mine Shohei with all his endorsements

Next year some salary will be done with

I just think they don't like to oversell prospects. I think they don't want to be seen as disagreeing with management if guys like Langford are not kept or brought up. I still remember Evan kept telling me the Rangers were not close to bringing Moreland up less than 48 hours before he came up.

I don’t remember the last time there was this much hype over a rangers prospect. I don’t even think profar was hyped this much.

If the Rangers are signing Montgomery, I think we will learn of it today, with an official announcement tomorrow. At this point, I do not know what to expect, but I do think we should know by this evening.

From Jeff Wilson:

Right-hander Jake Odorizzi, who spent last spring injured with the Rangers after a trade from the Braves, has been working out for clubs in the hopes of landing a major-league deal.

He needed shoulder surgery for what was diagnosed as arm fatigued and never pitched for the Rangers. I don't recall if he ever made it to Globe Life Field. It worked out just fine, especially with Dane Dunning emerging as the pitcher the Rangers thought Odorizzi would be.

Odorizzi is now part of the group of unsigned free-agent pitchers that continues to be topped by left-handers Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery. Both appear to be out of the Rangers' price range after the club exceeded the luxury tax and with the TV uncertainty after this season.

The rest of the group has some blemishes in one form or the other, but includes Michael Lorenzen, Zack Greinke, Noah Syndergaard, Domingo German, Trevor Bauer and Julio Urias. Syndergaard is from Mansfield, which is not one of his blemishes.

With spring training about to start, maybe a pitcher takes a budget-friendly deal. But with spring training about to start, the more it looks as if the Rangers will go with what they have.

If the Rangers sign Monty, does Bradford or Heany go to the pen.
