Again, I think this team has what it will start the season with, unless something unexpected or unusual presents itself. Very good health amongst our starting pitchers coupled with some contenders having a major starting pitching injury could lead to a trade of Mahle, but that can't be expected.

It will be hard enough to keep all of our starters healthy. In addition to that, it would require enough injuries to contending teams' starting pitchers to create interest.

I guess the same kind of scenario would have to play out for us to trade Taveras, although I think him being traded is a lot more likely. Maybe a 40% chance versus a 10% chance.

If this team had a good closer I would be very bullish on a win total. I really like our 6th and 7th inning bullpen guys, and I can live with the possibility of a decent 8th inning guy being in the fold. I am just not sold on us currently having a good closer in the fold. It is hard for me to see this team winning more than 90 games, at this point. If we had that closer I would expect a win total closer to 100 than 90.

From June 7, 2023 until the end of last year the Rangers have a record of 128-136 in the regular season. It is time to turn that, almost 10 months worth of regular season games, trend around.
