Hagerty has played all over the OF and can play 1B and 2B. He makes for a minor league depth piece.

Hagerty is a switch hitter but does much better against lefties. His career OPS vs. lefties is .807. He can steal a few bases, as well.

Haggerty is lacking in power but makes up for that with plus speed and a good bit of versatility. Statcast credited him with 92nd percentile sprint speed (29.2 ft/sec) as recently as 2023, and Haggerty boasts a career 33-for-36 (91.7%) mark in stolen base attempts in the majors. He’s played all three outfield spots and each of first base, second base and third base in the big leagues as well. The bulk of his time has been spent in the outfield — left field, specifically — and he’s drawn solid grades for his glovework there. Haggerty is best-suited for the short side of a platoon; despite his switch-hitting status, he’s just a .209/.278/.272 hitter as a lefty but carries a sharp .263/.355/.452 output when batting from the right side of the plate.

Given that Haggerty has spent the past half decade in the AL West, the Rangers have seen him plenty. He’ll give Texas some depth around the diamond but particularly in the outfield, where Wyatt Langford, Evan Carter and Adolis Garcia are slated to start and veteran Leody Taveras is projected to be the fourth outfielder. (Of course, Taveras stands as a viable trade candidate, which could improve Haggerty’s chances of making the roster.) If Haggerty does crack the big league club, he’s at 4.036 years of MLB service, making him controllable at least through 2026.

BP’s projections have the Rangers as being the second-best team in the American League with an average of 89.3 wins. That is a little behind the New York Yankees, who averaged 89.7 wins in the BP simulations, and a hair ahead of the Baltimore Orioles, who are at 89.2 wins. Texas is also favored to win the A.L. West in the PECOTA projections, taking the division title in 46.5% of simulations, as well as making the playoffs 75.3% of the time.

The projections have the Yankees, Rangers and Orioles in a pretty distinct tier, being within a half-win of each other. There’s then a dropoff to Houston, Minnesota and Seattle, who range from 86.9 wins to 85.8 wins. In the National League, the Dodgers are projected at over 100 wins, while Atlanta and the Cubs are each over 90 wins. The worst teams are projected to be the Rockies and ChiSox, both with over 100 losses, and the Marlins, at just a hair under 100 losses.

I signed up a few days ago to be notified when Victory+ became available. I relied to the email they sent me this morning. After I went through the process of buying it, they asked me if I was interested in the tickets. I affirmed that I was, and they said I would receive an email about it in early March.

Yeah, I heard those providers will be establishing a special station just for the Rangers. I guess they will do that closer to the beginning of this year's coverage.

Rangers Sports Network (RSN) has partnered with several traditional cable and digital television providers which will carry the team’s game broadcasts this season. While the club continues to finalize deals with many other providers, the current list of partners slated to televise the Rangers this season includes DirecTV, DIRECTV STREAM, AT&T U-verse, and Spectrum. Each distributor will house a specific channel for RSN and that individual channel will go live for the club’s pregame show, the game broadcast, and postgame productions. Traditional providers’ customers will have the ability to authenticate through Victory+ for access to the streaming platform.

Yeah, they have the station number picked out. I guess they just aren't going to make those stations active until it is closer to them being needed.
