No doubt good deal for the Hawks.
He's an upgrade and playing for a contract so that bodes well for the 12s.

But he's not the 2nd coming. Still a very good move by the Hawks FO.
For sure I can agree with this

Not going to read 7 pages, I'll start with that. But is SEA upset if at the end of the season he doesn't sign with them? At first I thought yes, then I saw what they paid. And if he signs somewhere else it will be big money and they should get one of the top comp picks for him, right?
its pretty meh if he sign elsewhere for where hes projected to sign for the Seahawks get a 3rd round comp so it will p much mean they clowney for the year for basically free

I mean we don’t really need him to be all world, just effective
You didn't just buy a Bugatti. You simply slapped an after market, high performance exhaust on your Toyota.

And before some of you "12's" get all butt hurt about calling your defense a Toyota, it's not 2014.

It's a solid upgrade. That's all.

They can still tag him again, I think.

There's an enormous gap between a Bugatti and a Toyota with an exhaust. Nobody here said anything that equates to your Bugatti comparison, yet you're "just tempering our hype" by putting words in our mouths.

We get it, you're a rival fan so this is what you get to do. You've done it on just about every page of this thread.

I speak the truth. Nothing more.

This is like the Jimmy Graham thing. Calm down,

Yeah but that would be really expensive, not sure they would. I think they only make this trade with a verbal agreement on a contract, but if he doesn't sign I just don't see the price paid as one that will make anyone freak out.

If he wants out of this world money, not upset he leaves and recover that third comp pick. For an upgrade on the line, he's an 8mil rental if he moves on.

What I read is they basically have Ansah and Clowney for about the same as they would have had to pay Clark under the tag. If/ when Clowney signs elsewhere at the end of the season, the Hawks get back the 3rd rounder they just gave in the trade. So they rent Clowney for 2 LB's that might not have made the roster anyway.

This makes sense. However picking up a rental player is for teams primed to make a SB run. I don’t think the Seahawks are there

They can be if the secondary can take that next step.

Total win/win for SEA...they get a talented, very motivated player...the cost was minimal and he could be enough to get SEA deeper into the playoffs, maybe even the NFCCG.

We know he’s probably going to take the highest offer in FA, if so...we know the Toronto Raptors are not mad at Kawhi.

Good move, the only bad part about it...SEA is on the Steelers schedule this yr...lol

Of course you don't. You probably thought they were going to be a 7 win team last year, too?

A good addition for Seattle but the Rams are still the better team.

Special teams are a push? Our kicker just cluctchingly kicked the longest field goal in postseason history to get us to the Super Bowl while the Rams also have the best punter in football
You must think we still have Seabass as our K.
Myers was an AFC pro bowler last year. Myers made 33 of 36 field-goal attempts, including 6 of 7 from 50-plus yards, including an NFL record five makes of 55-plus yards, and 30 of 33 extra points. He is not a slouch.
Our P was 1st team pro bowler. A push is a fair assessment.

Russell Wilson is still the key to success in Seattle.
