either way i would think they're both out of our range. if we're going to concentrate on the bullpen
I don't want Scherzer at any price and hope we keep Eovaldi because CY doesn' place much value on BP spending.

The only way I would sign Scherzer would be on a minor league deal.

From Tyler Zombro:

Take a look at our Top 5 Tread Athletes of the week!

5. Scott Blewett earned his first career win with the Twins. This comes after a two-year gap between big league appearances.

4. Trent Thornton threw 3 scoreless innings in 3 relief appearances for the Mariners lowering his FIP to 3.58 this season.

3. Cody Bradford logged 7 scoreless innings en route to a Rangers shutout of the Blue Jays.

2. Landon Knack threw 7 scoreless innings highlighted by 6 Fastball whiffs (T-2nd highest of his season)

1. Andre Pallante started 2 games in the last week and logged 14 innings of 1-run baseball. He collected 13 Ks and lowered his FIP to 3.81 this season.

Somehow, none of those Top 5 Tread Athletes of the week needed to go to the Royals to do well. Lol

Who was the guy the Rangers called up late in his MILB career and they allowed him to coach afterwards

Maybe incentive based after first of year or nothing

He would mess up the rotation with all of his injuries. I don't want any more of that. If they are struggling to find a relief pitcher and he wants to pitch in relief that might be okay, but I would just as soon not have him. He is way too fragile. He needs to retire.

On September 7, 2014, Guilder Rodríguezwas called up to the Texas Rangers for the first time in his major league career. He made his major league debut two days later.

Why bother. Here’s a guy who used to heal faster than normal and now he’s turning into Anthony Rendon II.
The only reason would be to serve as minor league fodder/filler, just in case he does get healthy. If he still keeps getting hurt, it would be simple to release him, and nothing would be owed. The latter is what I would expect.

i don't know how many would agree but i would let Chafin walk, keep Robertson and Yates and sign Carlos Estevez, Tanner Scott plus Yarbrough for the pen and Spencer Turnbull to help with the rotation.

Estevez and Scott would be expensive at around 16-17M AAV. Robertson is on a Mutual Option at 7M, Yates would be around 7-10M for 1 year and Yarbrough around 5M AAV.

Yarbrough
Gray
Coleman
Sborz
Robertson
Yates
Scott
Estevez

trade Heim, Lowe & Taveras plus a package for whatever

re-sign Kelly. Huff & Kelly

and look at FA 1B and OF
I love the creativity. Would be a nice bullpen

Over the last two seasons the Rangers accomplished two things under CY. The put together a great 60 game stretch to begin the 2023 season. Then they got inexplicably hot during the postseason last year. Since that 60th game of the regular season in 2023, this team has done nothing to show that they can play well enough in the regular season to ever get back to the postseason again. I don't understand what mojo the team had in those first 60 games last year, but it appears to have been a thing of the past. That ship has sailed.
I remember that 40-20 start. Was thinking we are going to have 95 -100 win seasons on the horizon
