You think that that is an excuse to lose your cool and take dumb penalties?
I would say it was a dirty play, which I said here. But if my lineman decides to undo the penalty by committing one of his own, I will call him out on it exactly the same.
Stupid penalties lose football games, and that was a stupid penalty.

It was a "stupid penalty", that should have never been made by the refs...
By the NFL's own admission...
But it will get called every time. He turned a late hit into a scuffle and almost worse.
JDM is confused. He thinks what HE believes SHOULD be a penalty makes it a penalty. Can't make up your own rules. Nfl admitted Staley should NOT have been flagged. You Can keep pounding your drum over and over, but it won't make it true.
Must be nice to know that your teammates don't have to risk a penalty when they know the refs have Brady's back.

They throw flags on hits over the middle that aren't against the rules all the time too, because it looks bad.
The league claimed that staley should not have, by the rules, been flagged, but the flag will get thrown every time, regardless of what statements they make after the fact. My claim is not even about what the rules that apply to the situation are, but that when a guy turns a bad situation into a worse one, the flag should get thrown.
And it will get thrown most times. The officials will do what they can to control the game and letting fights get started is losing control.

Interesting...
On almost every kickoff, players engage all the time like this, yet you rarely see flags thrown...
When it is on response to a penalty, that is when it is most likely to turn into a brawl. They throw the flag when people retaliate in those situations because if they don't, they can lose control quickly.
He did. He didn't shove him to the ground but he did retaliate.
