These were two of the best teams in the NFL squaring off and the team with the better defense, better offense and better overall record won the game on the last second field goal on their home field. Can't be too mad at that.
Agreed, I wasn’t upset by the result, that game was very entertaining.

The gameplan was predominantly rushing attack as I think Love only had about 20 passing attempts but that’s also because as I mentioned before the Lions extending drives on 4th down so our offense was on the field less.

The Lions TOP was almost a quarter more than the Packers and the Packers still managed to hang in there.

The no show by Reed was puzzling also unless there’s something internally I don’t know about.

I don't read too much into Reed not getting many touches this game; I think the Lions D targeted blanketing Reed just as the Packers D targeted blanketing St. Brown. Both D's did a pretty good job at it.

The Packers D is at 21.1 points per game - which is 10th in the NFL. The Lions have the 3rd best D at 18.0 ppg and they just gave up 31 to the Packers. The Lions have the best offense in the league at 32.1 ppg. The Packers have the 7th-best offense in the league at 26.8 ppg.

I hope these teams meet again in the playoffs.
Yeah, the Lions just have a crazy offense, and Cambell’s go for it on almost every damn 4th down shit wears down the D also keeping them on the field a lot longer
It was a battle in their house for sure. Both sides were banged up on D. Been seeing several posts on social media about the refs missing calls more so for GB than Detroit but I think when you play a quality opponent it will come down to the little things that will determine the outcome. In this game it came down to penalties and the defense not getting off the field. This will be a major factor in post season. My prediction is GB is good enough to win in the playoffs but the defense and penalties will be the reason they have another disappointing year IMO.

Very good game to watch... but Lions simply the better team and won.

Good:
- Packers played physically vs Lions... run defense kept Lions to 3.3 avg/rush.... Packers pursued to the ball extremely well
- Thought Clark and Q. Walker both had good games on defense.
- Although not the most effective, Packers stayed with the run game
- C. Watson huge reception start 2nd half... big contested 1st down catch, over 100 yards (but did have the fumble as well)
- Packers answered the bell after halftime with offensive TD and then pick by Nixon... able to grab the momentum
- Kraft with the cool acrobatic move when on ground after catch and big hit to get back on his feet... love his temperment

Bad:
- MLF another wasted challenge... I did not think a good challenge on 1st down spot
- 4th down defense... Lions converted 4 of 5... Packers stop either at end of 1st half or end of game they win most likely
- TOP heavily in favor of Lions... Lions 76 plays to Packers 45... needed to get Lions off field more quickly and Packers offense to convert more
- Packers offense 1 of 5 on 3rd down conversions
- Packers "trick plays" - flea flicker nothing was there, did not fool anyone... on Kraft blocking and sneaking out to the right flat for easy TD did fool the Lions... but Love launched the ball for some reason
- Packers OL I thought had a bad day... especially with a lot of Lions defenders out... lots of pressure and rushing yards were tough
- Inopportune penalties... Nixon giving Lions 1st and goal, Tom on last series on goal to goal and pushing them back. Q. Walker bonehead 15 yard penalty.

Ugly:
- Not going to put anything here... Packers went toe to to with one of the best in NFL at their house and almost pulled out a win...

That play really stood out to me, it happens I guess but that was an easy TD and he overthrew it an insane amount. Lol

Negative outlooks count every time and almost always result in failure.

Hard to remain optimistic when you see the same results year after year after year after year…let me know if I’m wrong about penalties and the defense being the reason this team comes up short again.

Looks like another team not named the Chiefs are getting special treatment.
Meh.

When the Patriots were the previous kings of the NFL, they were the "ref darlings". Packers, Steelers, Cowboys, etc... all repeatedly accused of being beneficiaries of ref bias by opposing fanbases through sustained successes over the years. Blaming wins or losses on ref bias is a punk bitch victimhood move. In reality, it all balances out; problem is fans have tunnel vision for their own team.

Valid point. I’m also in the corner of not blaming the refs for a loss. Bad calls usually go both ways and on occasion favor one team but they can influence a game. Ultimately you have to line up and play ball better than the opponent.

It’s still popping up-

Crazy how the ref missed this.

I watched Anders Carlson miss a 49 yd field goal for the Jets. I see he is just as good as when he was with GB. Glad they let him go.

Solid win against a bad depleted saints team. My only question is…does Watson have to get hurt in every game? The only thing holding this kid back is weak genes? Weak minded? Piss poor conditioning? All the above? Every time this kid falls down you have to hold your breath.

Swept by Detroit and Minny. My prediction stands- it will be another disappointing year. After the loss today I’m convinced it will be another short stay in post season. They are just an above average team that can’t beat good teams. I have noticed that if GB gets out to an early lead they usually are successful but when they play from behind they’re not good enough to over come it. If they can fix that, they may be able to get to the ship.

You'd find ways to be disappointed if the Packers win the SB.

The Packers don't have a "bad loss" on their resume, four of their five losses were one-score games and there were a lot of unforced errors by the Packers that tilted the game against them (i.e. lining up in the neutral zone on a long field goal attempt). The Packers can go toe to toe with every team in the NFL; if they play cleaner football they can easily make a run to Lombardi. Every team in the NFC playoffs has vulnerabilities that can be exploited.

If the Packers match up with MIN again, a top key to victory will be getting pressure on Darnold - who is prone to mistakes when under pressure.

Out of those losses they were playing from behind. You find out what a team is made of and they have come up short. I chalk it up to being one of the youngest teams in the league. Mark my words, they will lose again if they play Minny or Detroit.
What I don’t understand is how they kick seattles ass in Seattle and Minny struggled against them.

Disappointed? To a degree but why is it they played poorly against the same team twice? There is a good reason.

The Packers are capable of beating every team in the league, they just gotta play clean football. Fumbling on your first possession, failing to connect on a 4th down try that was open when in field goal range and lining up offsides on a missed field goal are some key differences between a win and a loss.

I'm by no means predicting the Packers are going to make a run to the SB; I'm simply pointing out that such a thing is well within reason. Stomping on hope because of some self-inflicted wounds in past games is silly.

Yep, I believe that if Jacobs doesn’t fumble the ball on that first drive, and the Packers score a TD on that drive they would’ve won that game and not have struggled as much on offense the rest of the game. Credit the Vikes D also because they played great.

Conjecture of course, but early mistakes in a huge game are a morale shifter any way you slice it.

Coupled with your other post where getting pressure on Darnold was a big deal also, they were almost getting to him on so many plays, but almost led to them to getting beat deep on a secondary that looked pretty shaky in that game.

I agree the Packers can beat anyone, if memory serves they average as the youngest team in the NFL this season and it shows sometimes, but it gives me hope that they can make runs for the foreseeable future.
