Well... division win, but they did not earn this one in my opinion.

Good:
- Brooks block of FG to win the game
- Division win on the road
- Penalties... only 3 for 25 yards
- Jacobs running the ball 18 for 76 yards and TD
- Watson big plays 150 yards on 4 receptions

Bad:
- Defense
- 391 yards to very bad offense
- Bears 9 of 16 on 3rd down and 3 for 3 on 4th down... could not get off field
- No turnovers
- No pass rush (again) until last series and got 2 consecutive sacks
- Love another interception on terrible overthrow... now 8 consecutive games with interception
- Doubs, Wicks and Tucker combined 1 catch... Reed only 2 total catches
- Packers offense total of 43 plays
- Challenge on Love TD... timeout on Bears 2 pt attempt

Ugly:
- Defending Williams rushing the ball (9 carries for 70 yards)
- Defense going to prevent after 2 sacks

Packers always seem to find a horseshoe up their ass when they play the Bears.

This is a win that feels like a loss. A couple things that stand out to me is it seems the D was on the back foot for almost all the 2nd half and the offense moved the ball, but the timing and ability to finish was off, one is an opinion the other is shown on the scoreboard. There are also a few things that may have contributed to that, the Bears had a new play caller and the Packers coming off a bye. Lastly, the Bears are not the scrubs of the NFL, not the Panthers or Titans, they're just scuffling. As usual, you're never as good or as bad as your last game, so they should move on to San Fran and hopefully give us a better showing.

I agree, you can't have false starts, offsides and ridiculously idiotic Favre plays by the QB and expect to win a football team against a very good football team. The biggest problem I have with those 3 things is they happen game in and game out, so whatever they're doing to fix those things, it isn't working and it's time to get corrected.
IMO, that’s on the coach and staff. My granddaughter plays fastpitch softball and I’m always helping her with her hitting and fielding. The coaches must see what we see and apparently what ever they are telling/showing them isn’t clicking.

Although the defense has been playing well in spurts I get the Ground Hog Day feel with them. I see GB as a middle of the road team. Mainly due to penalties, the defense and inexperience at the QB position. Even if they make the playoffs it will probably be another early exit.

The Packers are far from the best team in the NFL right now. That doesn't mean things can't start clicking at optimal proficiency at the end of the season and playoffs, though. Being 7-3 despite the ugliness should reinforce some level of optimism that the team can get on track at the right time.

If Packers stay healthy, I could see offense becoming much more potent.

Defense is the big question for me... DL still no pass rush and now what is up with Alexander.

Despite very clearly not clicking on all cylinders, the Packers have lost only three games to the 9-1 Lions, 8-2 Vikings and 8-2 Eagles. There are no bad losses in there (yet). They got quality wins over two division leaders (Cardinals & Texans). I know it ain't you, but a lot of fans are shoveling doom and gloom and frankly that's a little silly considering these results.

I agree that the D is a question mark as they haven't quite built the cohesion or consistency we have been hoping for yet and really should have by now. Even if they never get there this year, it'll probably still be enough to get into the playoffs, but not enough to get playoff wins.

Agreed. I think their biggest deficiency is penalties. I don’t want to see them peak to early. Detroit has a very good team this year but I suspect they may be peaking too early. I could be wrong but hopefully I’m not. As of right now they are in the 6th slot for the playoffs so they need to start cleaning up the penalties and Love to make better decisions. My biggest worry will be the defense like always. Crazy how GB has spent the most time, draft picks on the D and although they have played well they also have issues such as giving up 70 yards to a rookie QB. In the playoffs, they can’t afford to play that way.

The one player I'm really getting tired of is Alexander. Why he can't just STFU and play is beyond me. Play the play call and shut your damn mouth, we know you can do it, we don't care about the nonsense.

The other guy I'm noticing that isn't really pulling his weight is Quay. He's the guy that needs to be making the plays in the run game, and it seems that it's everyone but him making the plays. I don't know if his reads are slow or his reaction is slow, but Blake Martinez made the plays he makes, so show the hell up and make an impact.

Another win... how the NFC is playing out, Packers would need big meltdown in last 6 games not to make the playoffs as 2 games up on wildcard and own the tiebreaker over Cardinals. But several tough games left, so anything can happen.

Good:
- Dominated a good team that was depleted (eventually)
- Packers rush defense... SF 16 carries 44 yards (2.8 average)... McCaffrey very quiet day running and receiving
- End 2nd QTR 1st 3 series of 2nd half SF 4 series 194 yards (only got 10 pts)... other 7 series for SF total of 50 yards
- 3 defensive takeaways and all lead to Green Bay TDs... how the Packers eventually "dominated"
- Packers defense going after the ball... Nixon with punch on McCaffrey fumble, Williams almost punched the ball out of Kittle tackling him... Packers forced 5 fumbles and recovered 2 of them
- McKinney league leading 7th interception... he gets his hands on the ball he picks it off it seems.. (unlike Quay Walker)
- Defense getting off the field... SF 3 of 10 on 3rd down and 0-2 on 4th down
- Josh Jacobs running the ball (again), 106 yards, 26 carries and 3 TDs
- Packers big TOP advantage

Bad:
- Some more WR drops... Watson what could have been a long TD, Doubs on ball that could have been intercepted
- DL again pass rush IMO... did have 2 sacks, but only 3 QB hits and Williams was out
- DL presnap penalties... lining up in neutral zone and also Clark over the ball jumping offside
- Watson and Wicks combined 1 reception... thought Reed was rather quiet as well with only 3 receptions 26 yards on 3 targets... Packers may not have true #1... just a lot of good #2's (Doubs may be the best of bunch... but after earlier incident this year I would have hard time paying him to be potential #1)

Ugly:
- Nothing

The 49ers were decimated with injuries. Not really sure what to make of this game. I doubt Doubs plays Thursday, but the WR corp has pretty much been by committee all year, but Doubs seemed to be the most consistent. I believe it's better to spread it around as it makes the QB make the right read.

Love didn't have a pick, but it seems like he tried, good news is his WR played good D on the worst throw.

D had a decent day, I think they were more consistent in closing off running lanes from the QB, which really hurt them last week. Allen isn't much of a run threat, and neither is Tua, so them might figure it out. Stopping the run is very much the key for them, and I'm guessing the Dolphins will test that.

Whatever, you're never as good or as bad as your last game, but weekly improvement all across the board would be nice, as it's almost December football.

Packers win on Thanksgiving, now 16-20-2 all time on Thanksgiving. Important win considering some of the road games coming up.

Good:
  • First half for Packers - offense and defense
  • Packers very physical on offense
  • Jordan Love good decisions, clean game... 1 throw I did not like (flat to Reed that was almost a fumble), no sacks, used checkdowns
  • Jacobs catching the ball and YAC yards
  • Packers breaking tackles, Jacobs, Kraft, Reed, Brooks
  • OL not allowing any sacks, Love had pretty good pockets to pass
  • Defense 5 sacks
  • Defensive stop on 4th and goal late in game from 2-3 yard line
  • McManus perfect on FGs and extra points
  • FG at end of 1st half... Packers got stop so Dolphins did not put any points on board and then Packers got in FG range and added 3 important points

Bad:
  • Second half for Packers - did they take foot off the gas... or could not counter Dolphins adjustments?
  • Packers stopped on 3rd and 1 and not picking it up 2nd series of 2nd half
  • Jacobs only 2.3 yards/rush
  • DL 3 offsides penalties
  • Packers pass defense over the middle in 2nd half... especially defending J. Smith

Ugly:
  • Nothing
Big game next Thursday in Detroit

The pre snap penalties are just atrocious. I still can’t fathom how you can commit even one false start at home. But there they were…killing it. The lack of discipline will bite them in the ass in post season.

I’m sticking by my philosophy on defense. A good defense will keep teams under 20 points a game.

Yeah, the Lions just have a crazy offense, and Cambell’s go for it on almost every damn 4th down shit wears down the D also keeping them on the field a lot longer

The Packers D is at 21.1 points per game - which is 10th in the NFL. The Lions have the 3rd best D at 18.0 ppg and they just gave up 31 to the Packers. The Lions have the best offense in the league at 32.1 ppg. The Packers have the 7th-best offense in the league at 26.8 ppg.

These were two of the best teams in the NFL squaring off and the team with the better defense, better offense and better overall record won the game on the last second field goal on their home field. Can't be too mad at that.

I hope these teams meet again in the playoffs.
