He did. He didn't shove him to the ground but he did retaliate.
If he had retaliated the NFL would not have come out and said Staley should not have been penalized this morning...
Sheesh...
Your interpretation of retaliation is skewed...
He did. He didn't shove him to the ground but he did retaliate.
Could you guys imagine if someone close lined Brady oh my
This is all I'm trying to say. Kaep bounced right back up and it was a silly flag to take.
No, but they shouldn't be drawing flags for no reason either. It's not like the hit was even that bad; it was just out of bounds. If he went at the knees or head fine, but with the hit that was, take the flag and move on.
So should you only help out a teammate when they get injured? The result of the cheap shot/late hit should have nothing to do with the way you react to protecting your QB. Do you guys not understand how locker rooms work?
So I'll bring this up here since it is after all the Bad Call vs Packers Cleared Up.
Anyone notice how similar the Interception was on the deep throw to the endzone that was called back thanks to Aldon being offside was to the Packers Interception on the Seahawks last year? The real NFL refs ruled we picked the ball off despite the Packer WR getting an arm on the ball and trying to make it look like a simultaneously catch after contact with ground. Granted it was all for nothing thanks to the penalty, but seeing that play live made me think of that horrible call last year.
If Staley got kicked out for beating down Mathews I think it still would have been a good move.
Watch this at 26:47 and see who is in that fight. Rice was the first one there to protect his QB. Gotta protect him from shit like that. As Brett Jones said "That guy is messing with your super bowl ring"

Matthews is a mongoloid.
Staley never shoulda been flagged, and quite possibly, Matthews, ejected. Egregious personal foul, followed by the "first punch".
I know I am biased, but that's Bush League for a "star".
Report: NFL downgrades Packers-49ers official Bill Leavy - CBSSports.com
Interesting. Sounds like the league was none too pleased with the Ref's performance in the Niner game.
I thought this incident was a nonissue. I didn't think Staley deserved a flag, they scored, dead issue.
As for Clay, he never tries to injure people and rarely pushes the line. He got carried away trying to make a tackle on Kaep, and it wasn't even a hard hit. It was a mistake and he accepted that.
Now... Remember a few years ago when Urlacher broke his forearm and ended his season when he gave Rodgers an intimidation shot 7 yards out of bounds? Fuck off...
Good game 49ers. Your team is loaded.
And also... Don't let slow motion fool you into thinking that you know how to play football...
