WOW! Why did Vancouver trade CoHo??? WTF???

Can Kassian help this season? CoHo is a future stud in my opinion.....interesting. Maybe they tried to sign him long term and he wants a lot of money?

Galiardi fits the definition of 3rd line forward and should be retained past this season. I really like this trade with the only 'wild card' being Sbaroosaa (sp).

Prospects traded that haven't hurt the Sharks (off the top of my head):
Wishart
Barriball
Hennessey

Prospects (or young NHLers) traded that made an impact in NHL:
Kippur
Boyes
Carle
(the 1st rounder in Rivet trade = Max Paciarety)
(some pick became David Perron, cant remember)

So with all of these FANTASTIC additions to the Sharks roster now. Does this mean the END of watching Ferriero, Wingels, Vandermeer on Forward, and White?

*on bright spot I HOPE :pray2: Couture isnt really banged up as I thought.

McGinn was playing much better this year but if Wilson thinks that this is his ceiling, I understand the trade.

And we're stocking up on 7th round picks, now that is excitement...

I really like Wingels game the last 10 or so. If he can keep that up, I think he could be a decent 3rd liner or awesome 4th liner. Ferry-O just is too small and too 1-dimensional to be a 4th liner and not good enough to be a Top 6 guy.

BTW, McGinn has 1 assist in his last 10 games and 2G and 2A in his last 20 games. I think consistency will always be a problem for him. I do wish him the best though, seemed like a good guy.

There seems to be a tremendous amount of head being given to Kassian on twitter by all the reporters. I don't get it.

- Kipper, sure. Had to trade one of them though.
- Boyes. Meh. I liked what Curtis brought as a long term rental.
- Carle, ok. But we sure liked what we got back for him.
- MaxPac and Perron as picks sure would have been nice if we made them.

I like our trade. Galiardi could blossom and Winnik has fought Clowe twice, we needed more balls. It all comes down to Havlat doing well...

Cmon, are we wrong to think that Sgarbossa was going to be a stud and he should have been held on to?

Sgarbossa was 3rd, maybe 4th, on the Sharks forward prospect depth behind Hamilton and Nieto for sure and is definately a project type prospect. He's a fantastic scorer at the Major Junior level but there are a lot of questionmarks on weather his game will translate well to the pro level. The biggest issue with his game is his defense and if he doesn't improve it significantly he'll never be an NHL regular. Showing no improvement from one year to the next in the defensive aspect of the game is almost sure death for a prospect in the Sharks organization.

Personally I would have liked to see what he could do in the AHL before moving him as I like what he's done offensively. It would have been nice to see if guys like Marchment and Ricci could have developed the defensive side of his game.

HEY the TSN trade deadline show, just said Murray, Moore should be able to return at the end of this week, and Havlat could join the team next week also.

Maybe its true, maybe its false but who cares

Yeah that move has me scratching my head too. I don't get it at all. I guess they wanted to be bigger. But Hodgson is ready to contribute now. Kassian is still a project. Interesting that VAN made a move for the future when they are ready for 'win now' mode.

Exactly, there is no certainty that we would have drafted the same players with those picks.

Dude, even if we did the folks saying DW has traded away all these valuable pieces are full of shit.

But thanks for not making me be the one to point that out.

Agreed. Sharks just don't hit on 1st rounders. The Sharks know what's up now. The value is alllll in the 7th rounders (Braun, Demers, Pavs) which the Sharks have 3(?) now in this year's draft.
