Bichette is on the IL. I thought there was some kind of rule against trading a player on the IL? Also, JP is our SS. Bichette is still young in his career. I doubt if he would be willing to move over to 2nd or 3rd base, but asking JP to move would create some bad mojo.

I don’t think there is a rule. That’s how the M’s got Munoz. With JP, he needs to be humbled in a way. He is a below average SS defensively and had one good offensive season and shouldn’t be gifted the leadoff spot

I think this is risky. If teams do not want to give their top prospects for Vlad because his agent is looking for his client to test free agency that will especially be the case next deadline because at that point he will be testing free agency nobody would want to trade for him. It is stressful trying to trade away a star player on the brink of free agency and try to get anything valuable in return.

Teams trade for expiring contracts all the time. Yimi is n an expired contract.
