It's funny that people trash THT. He basically has played in 2 full seasons (his rookie year he played in just 6, LOL) and according to them he can't improve. When he'll be all of 22 in November.

Can he improve? Sure. Is anybody going to value him in a trade? Probably not because right now he's just a guy. Right now there are two dozen guys in the G League at the same level as he is. You Laker fans overinflate what he is because 1) You're Lakers fans and many of you are delusional when assessing the value of your players 2) your franchise is bereft of decent assets so you're overplaying the value of literally the only asset the Lakers possess.

I never said we should get a haul for him in return, LOL.

I actually want to keep him.

He's 21. LOL.

Lonzo Ball has shown young players can improve. People said he was bad after 2-3 seasons.

Cool. Other than shitting in your hat and hoping what have you seen that says this dude will be a solid player?

The options aren't that attractive though.....Detroit, Orlando, Indiana and I don't think SAS or Portland needs another guard.

I'm confident he'll take the 6 mill (not much of a cut since you pointed out his ceiling is 10mill, story you posted) with the potential for up to 4 years and 44 mill after next season.
Unless he wants to go to a for sure playoff caliber team with a different role that could offer him the MLE $10.09M. He could still be working up to that big contract.

He can score. Showed that his first 5-6 games consistently when he came back from his injury.

And he improved his defense last season to where he's average. With continued work I believe he can be an above average defender.

I never specifically said that but I said we won't see that growth on the Lakers and his role. Like I mentioned, we never saw the ceiling or true growth of Ball, Randle or Ingram, we saw flashes. They moved on and they seem to breakout, could be the same for THT but I wouldn't put him in that class.

I'll pass on 41% and 26% from 3. Could he have potential? Sure but a lot of young players could have potential. He doesn't bring back much value in a trade unless you attach something with him.

People said the same about Lonzo his first few seasons.
And your point? I specifically said he would see more growth on another team but that does nothing for him now and his trade value. He hasn't proved anything to this point. Right now he is just another young player with potential in a league full of them. Join the club

Agree. His reasoning was that Brooklyn wants out of the Kyrie business, which may well be true, and that there wouldn't be much more difference in the market for Kyrie than for Westbrook because of the baggage with Kyrie.

That may also be true....but I would think that someone would offer them more than Westbrook and a 2027 1st. lol

I will take a player with baggage over a player who is cooked all day every day.

Brooklyn not doing that.

Also, while I get the frustration, Brooklyn is incredibly stupid if they trade Kyrie without KD’s blessing.

Incredibly stupid.

Maybe but KD is likely too emotional to make that call

He's 24. Getting the most money is likely his biggest priority

Like Shane said, he really doesn’t fit the time line of this team. They don’t have time to wait and see what THT might become.
