And his horrible series against the Celtics doesn’t help his cause
Boston is a really good defensive team. Think that's evident when both KD and Irving played below their normal level of play.

Being the 7 seed really hurt them. If they had been a 4 or 5 seed it would have been a very different 1st round.

Maybe, but I think it’s likely they still would have lost in the 1st round

No question it’s Mims, people are nuts if they don’t think there is still a lot of talent at Oklahoma.

Yeah. And Gabriel is a decent qb.

Nice to have gotten a guy with some experience at least. I think a lot of people will be surprised with OU, still the favorite in the Big 12.

LOL.

Not really....when healthy they still have 2 top 10 players.
Doesn't really matter if one is hurt all the time, the other is on his final year of his contract and 38 then you have a bonehead throwing shit off the side of the backboard.

If they have no choice but to keep Russ for the last year, they are going to need to do a better job with the pieces around Lebron and AD but to a point it really doesn't matter. If AD and Lebron don't stay healthy, that is their fate.

They need to turn tht into someone who can shoot.

Can’t play tht and Russ and both need to play a similar primary facilitator role to have any effect on the offensive end right now.

From reports they want an All-Star player for THT. I don't think that is true but it seems like if they could just flip him for a veteran 3-D guy that would be good enough. He really isn't that good.

He's also still just 21. And has already improved on defense and can still improve there and other areas.

Monk is leaning towards coming back and he'll most likely start alongside RW, if he isn't traded.

It doesn't matter, sure he could have all the potential on the world but we aren't seeing it. We see flashes but we saw flashes with Ingram, Lonzo, etc. and all those guys were high picks. The fact is this team is stunting his growth so if he breaks out it won't be until after they trade him. Gotta settle for less....no way they are getting a All-Star type of player for him. He doesn't fit the team either imo

The Lakers are desperate

I don't know about desperate...but they are definitely in a beggars can't be choosers position rather than dealing from a position of strength.

With AD, they were in a position to get him because he wanted to go to the Lakers and they had assets to get the deal done.

Now? They have to hope for something like a team deciding to blow it up and wanting to take on a bad 1 year deal for cap space or a team being in a position with a player they want to move on from and other teams not wanting to take a risk.

I wouldn't hold my breath on Monk.

It's good news that he is willing to take less...but as was discussed before, we don't know how much less he is willing to take and while we can assume that he would want the TPMLE to stay, we don't know that the Lakers intend to give it to him.

lol

Cowherd was pushing a Westbrook for Kyrie trade today. A couple of his guests said it wasn't crazy...but they may have just been being polite.
They were being super-polite because Kyrie wouldn't improve as long as Lebron is the point guard - and I am fine with that a long a it's his natural calling - but Lebron is the moron that pushed for Westbrook. Now to demonstrate the genius(not) of Phil Jackson - who was pushing for the Lakers to trade LeBron and Keep Westbrook.

The options aren't that attractive though.....Detroit, Orlando, Indiana and I don't think SAS or Portland needs another guard.

I'm confident he'll take the 6 mill (not much of a cut since you pointed out his ceiling is 10mill, story you posted) with the potential for up to 4 years and 44 mill after next season.

Irving and James won a title together.....and Irving is actually better playing as a SG (like when he won with James).
