Interesting choice. I would have thought Quenneville was toxic after what happened with the Hawks.
The duck loving wife is pissed. There have been rumors for a week the he was getting the job. After today’s press she is furious. They are trying to rewrite history.
Don’t let her near the Ducks bench with a fully loaded hotdog

So your saying Emerson is the next GM lol

They'll have conducted an "exhaustive search with internal and external candidates and believe Nelson Emerson has the vision, capability and gusto to move thos franchise forward to the next level" when the presser comes out.

Ducks getting a lot of blowback on this hire all over the interwebz.

I will give them credit for having balls going for a three time Cup winner who is established and not some hot AHL no experience coach, sends a message they want to win. Guess we will find out exactly how that plays out next season.

Reminds me of Voynov, he's been free forever to return to the NHL but hasn't, imagine if LA would have brought him back. Yes a massive black mark but then the needs for a Doughty replacement or drafting guys like Faber and Clarke may not happen and other holes filled.

I've read he's more closely linked to the Isles but it makes sense why the Kings would look at him.

The issue I have is yes he built Cup teams with Detroit but that was a different era, no cap and he had a loaded roster. Not the same situation at all now.

Don't think he would be a good hire. Which makes perfect sense for LA since that's all they seem to do, hire the wrong person.

Bettman stating "there's interest" in a franchise in Atlanta again.

Yeah let's try it a third time, it'll work. Sounds like the Kings' philosophy on how to beat Edmonton every year.

After seeing the list of “Candidates” I am sorely disappointed with the amount of people are friends of Luc’s. This is why he needs to leave too. The Kings don’t need his buddies. The Kings need a total overhaul.

My one and two are Futa and Darche. He's done a phenomenal job in Tampa, and even though Futa has been gone for 5 years he still has connections to the Kings.

Like X said, he was the true architect of those Cup teams not Yanetti. No coincidence that Futa leaves and LA drafting went off the cliff but that started prior with Blake, we just didn't see the results of those poor drafts until 2020 or 2021.

Darche has no Kings connection which is a good thing.

New Offer Sheet compensation:

Don't see them too often but last summer did the Blues pull a doozie on the Oilers. Both Broberg and Holloway became key pieces for St Louis.

FYI Holland drafted both players, just something to note since his name seems to be the front runner to replace Bowlby. The Oilers were also unable to match those because of previous contracts handed out (Nurse being a big one), also by Holland.

Broberg and Holloway are the only "hits" in his 5 years I believe. Could be worse...

It is worse, Holloway taken in 2020 as well (14th), out performed Buster 2OA. Broberg taken in 2019 (8th), better than Turcotte 5OA and a defender to boot with size.

Better than Bowlby did for sure but also like Bowlby players thriving elsewhere.

That would be a big fat no overall. Just looking at some of the picks that moved on and basically it's The Legend, 2017 and even he hasn't been consistent with the injury issues every season. Kupari, Name Plate, Arty Retardy, Bjornfot, etc all busts.

Not a good track record at all. I have no sense of the logic Kingsters use to say the Kings have done well drafting, specifically under Blake.

Seeing a trade rumor for The Bread Man from the Rangers. Kings would send them Laffy and a 1st. Thoughts?

I do like Panarin and he would be a point getter like we have not had since maybe Palffy? But I also dont want to move NJ 14, he is never going to be close to panarin but he is young and hungery and still will get a bit better IMO. This has to be made up fan trades being thrown around imo or blogger type. Panarin is also gonna be 34, if this is the Kings going for it since there is nothing in the pipeline its going to be very bleak in a few seasons when Panarin, Fiala are old and Kings just have a Buster with 2nd and 3rd round prospects....plus im not positive having Panarin playing back in the defensive zone for all 3rd period mintues like the rest of the Kings moves the needle even a little against Edm.

That would be a hard no for me. Laferriere cooled down a lot down the stretch but he has that it factor about him. Second full NHL season, he seemed to hit the Sophomore Slump late into the season but I'm banking on a rebound in 2025-26.

As stated Panarin is 34 and while still good that's long in the tooth and would just add more age to an already group of older guys they rely on (which they shouldn't any more and if that hurts Doughty or Kopitar's feelings so be it). Laferriere is 23 and will improve plus his overall game is pretty complete and a transition to the younger guys identified as long term pieces needs to happen and this move would prevent that.

Does indeed sound like an NHL25 trade idea.

As expected Jill will be back per Holland's presser.

95% i probably not going to watch this season... Not that it matters, but i would rather watch a pathetic last place team than I would want to follow another Jill playoff team. I can watch poor or bad play but I just cant stand a coach blowing it so bad and think he is doing it right.

Nah don't let that stop you being a fan. Besides, you can watch and see how he manages to screw up the RS instead.

=)~~

Been reading Kings stuff since the PO loss, Buster's name still high on the list of gaffes that cost the series. Thought that may have died down by now but nope, still alive and well.

That one to me is right up there with Jill's bone headed coaching decisions. One of the worst plays I've ever seen including Stefan's EN whiff 20 years ago or whatever.

Buster freaks saying he would be "a difference maker" in the series, well he sure as shit was. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it - literally a board chip away from being up 3-0 against your arch nemesis in a series but he wanted to go BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM over being a team player.

Doesnt mean im not a fan, but Jill got me good this season. I knew they had no chance but they showed how (and that they could) beat the Oil and he did everything possible to yank that football from charlie brown. Fool me once shame on you....if somehow the get passed Edm next season I might watch....but Fuck Jill, not gonna waste my time. If getting Mitch the bitch is Hollands way to fix that....lol good luck guys. I will never accept a coach loosing for a team especially in a series. He failed the team and the fans in the worst way and still thinks he was fine and it was everything else to blame. Even the Buster (not shocking) fuck up shouldnt have even mattered....and thats my point and why i cant get into it....he took the outcome out of the players hands/ability and that is completely unacceptable.
