know what I remember about hammaker?

all star game, not sure what year, had to be the 80s

bases loaded, fred lynn up, 2 strikes, he throws a perfect pitch, right down the middle

I mean...right down the middle

called a ball

next pitch, grand slam

..and right after that grand slam my childhood friend jumped up and down so much he slipped and smashed his head on the coffee table, had to be rushed to the hospital. One of those childhood memories that stays with you, he was fine, 20 stitches later.

Because, this IS all to know of him. Poor guy was a touch soft in the head, in that he never recovered from that one homer. And, you can look it up......

And, he was not an arm breaker like Dravecky. The only other guy I can think of that went Dravecky was a guy named Tony Saunders, late of the Rays.

Thought a Reds pitcher Tom Browning or something was the breaker. Nobody can say who used PED's...the arm breaking phenominan has dissappeared since testing also.

I see Browning had this happen to him as well.

Good catch and call on him/that.

Talk about a W.T.F news item -

Just when you think the saga of Rob Ford, Toronto’s crack-smoking mayor, couldn’t be more of a circus, WWE Hall of Famer the Iron Sheik has officially arrived in Toronto to arm wrestle the disgraced politician.

AL MVP: Chris Davis, Miguel Cabrera, Mike Trout
NL MVP: Andrew McCutchen, Paul Goldschmidt, Yadier Molina
AL Cy Young: Max Scherzer, Yu Darvish, Hisashi Iwakuma
NL Cy Young: Clayton Kershaw, Adam Wainwright, Jose Fernandez
AL MOY: John Farrell, Terry Francona, Bob Melvin
NL MOY: Clint Hurdle, Fredi Gonzalez, Don Mattingly
AL ROY: Wil Myers, Jose Iglesias, Chris Archer
NL ROY: Yasiel Puig, Jose Fernandez, Shelby Miller

My votes:
AL MVP: Trout -best player in the game had another great season
NL MVP: Goldschmidt - better year than McCutchen- don't give me the "they missed the playoffs" BS
AL Cy: Scherzer - Scherzer had the best sesason
NL Cy: Kershaw - best pitcher in the game
AL MOY: Farrell - not a homer pick -revitalized Sox -revitalized pitching staff-led AL in wins
NL MOY: Hurdle - after team not making the playoffs for 20 years, how does he not get it?
AL ROY: Myers - not much of a competition here
NL ROY: Fernandez - to do what he did as a rookie on a bad team? at 21 yrs old? Impressive

I'd give it to McCutchen not because his team made the playoffs, but because he played a much more difficult position than Goldschmidt.

my bad man

i blame hammer for being a bitch and not comming back due to worrld's dominance.

No worries. I have no idea of where and why he is, only figuring that there are boards here with trouble/troublemakers in it, and this ain't one.

After seven years managing in the minors and six more coaching in the majors, Rick Renteria has hit the big time. The Cubs [ame=""]will name him their new manager[/ame] on Thursday, CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman and others are reporting.

Excuse me if I find this move very underwhelming.
