Surprised Lloyd McClendon didn't make the finals. Getting every bit of juice out of the pathetic Mariners this year was something to see.

How many games did Pedroia play? J J Hardy?

At least they didn't give one to a DH this year.

After looking it up Pedroia played in 135 and Hardy played in 141. I could have sworn they were both injured for longer periods then that.

yup.... barring injury, Lorenzo Cain will win next year based on this years playoff run. Thats how the writers do.

Honestly surprised they didn't throw another one jeters way.

I think there has been a bit of a push-back on the Jeter D thing this year. I suspect that is why he didn't get it this year.

Thinking Cain and Alcedes Escobar both will be in voters minds next year because of the little run the Royals went on.

Awesome for deGrom. If he can keep that up and Harvey is even 80% of what he was the Mets have a great 1-2 punch at the top of the rotation.

Matt Williams winning over Bruce Bochey? BWWAA can take their award and shove it. We will always take the WS over individual awards.

And yet, here you are getting worked up over a regular season award.

Not that I agree with Williams winning it. I would have gone with Hurdle. Maybe Bochy or even Bud Black (look at the Padres roster).

Given the top 3, I would have had Hurdle #1, then Williams at #2.

Bochy made quite a few "errors" during the regular season, and if don't believe his work during the reg season was worthy of any accolades. If the award was voted on after the post season, then OBVIOUSLY my opinion changes, but that is not the case.

Bochy's a better manager than both. Williams is terrible. I mean, he's really awful. If the Nationals weren't so darned talented, he wouldn't have sniffed the award.

Bochy's really the only good manager I can think of in the NL. Well, Maddon now, I guess.

Hurdle is terrible at bullpen management, and simply can't get creative when dealing with pitchers in general. Williams is inept at writing lineups. Matheny and Mattingly are poor with bullpen management. Bochy's alright across the board, and, honestly, I think that's good enough to make him the best in the NL.
