here is a trivia question...in 1936 Lou Gehrig scored 167 runs

who is the only player in baseball since then to score 150+ runs? Not a Guardian just an FYI. If you dont cheat- it will be very very hard to guess.
I missed the after 1936, so my first guess was Billy Hamilton.

Has to be someone around .400 obp with good bats around him. Goldschmidt, Trout, or Votto are my 3 most likely ones.

Helton was a great pick, not for the bats around him, but for coors. Larry Walker for the same reasons.

Those are my many guesses.

Oh Shit. I got it. Biggio! Years of top notch 1 or 2 slot with a monster bat behind him.

I was just having some fun. I did not get it, but I am willing to bet my criteria is close. I will look it up in a bit so we don't spoil it here incase someone gets it.

Trout seemed so good to. Gets on base, has speed, and hit power.

It's pretty surprising, kind of a statistical quirk really

I looked up the answer after guessing (wrongly). Want to know it? Pretty tricky to guess.

Also when I looked it up I saw Wiggy messed up the question...in 1937 DiMaggio had 151 and Ted Williams had 150 in 1949. But if you reframe the question as who had more than 150 runs scored after DiMaggio in 1937 it's still a good one. Relatively recent.

what's amazing to me is that they scored 150+ runs on a team that lost 90 games (and their team had the 2nd most runs scored). I feel like that phenomenon would be pretty rare outside of the Rockies franchise.

I actually guessed it too after looking at one of the other guesses, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone else. It is a great question though. Runs scored, even though it is somewhat dependent on the guys hitting after you is a great way to tell what kind of a season someone is having.

I wonder how many games that team would have won if Billy Wagner had been his normal self.

yeah the starting pitching was pretty bad that year. Not a good showing for "Lima Time"

I made a comment in the Vegas A’s thread that got me thinking. I mentioned that an argument could be made to place the A’s as a top 5 franchise all time.

Of course that is a loaded question. What factors in? Championships? HOFers? Division championships? Regular season wins? General fandom? Hollywood representation? Market size?

Using your own valuation, rank all 30 teams. Here is my ranking (I have given it some thought, but this is still essentially off the top of my head)…

Yankees
Cardinals
Dodgers
Giants

Braves
Reds
Red Sox
A’s

Cubs
Phillies
Tigers
Orioles
Pirates
Mets

White Sox
Blue Jays
Rangers
Astros
Twins
Royals

Angels
Mariners
Nationals
Brewers
Marlins
Rays
Diamondbacks
Guardians
Padres
Rockies

Switch the Mariners with the Rockies and I agree with you 100% :pound:

Mariners have real pull in Asia. No way are they the most insignificant org in the MLB. And the Rox are worthless. No way they belong at the top side of the bottom tier.

I find it funny that non-White Sox fans probably rank us higher than actual White Sox fans on this list. We’re so bad we can’t even get bias right.
