ohhhhhh yeah I remember that. 9th inning too. Absolutely would have given the Yankees the lead. I thought Game 5 was the best out of all of them.

Ohhhhh Fuck off, this topic doesnt concern you

Was actually posting on CBS at the time. Game 4 was an afternoon start, and all the Sox fans knew it was over.

Except for RedSoxWorld. He kept saying Sox in 7. Asshole. LOL

Game 4 loss - "Eh, sucks, but we are ok"

Game 5 loss - "Uh Oh"

Game 6 loss - "Its over, we have zero shot tomorrow"
Game 5, 7th inning, Manny up to bat, 1st and 2nd, 1 out, Flash Gordon pitching

Double play

I thought that was it.

Wasn't Game 5 the only early start? I just remember that being the longest game but didn't actually end too late.

You're right. Game 5, Pedro vs Lieber I think. Jeter doubled in 2 runs in the 6th or 7th, Yanks took a 2 run lead into the 8th. Flash Gordon was vomiting in the bullpen from nerves. What a horrorshow.

Bases loaded, 3-RBI double by Jeter. Went from 2-1 Sox to 4-2 Yankees.

Should have had Mo pitch the whole 8th

No doubt. And he got hung with the blown save for giving up a sac fly to Varitek if I remember right.

The beginning of the end for Torre

Although I thought not playing the IF at DP depth vs Arizona and Luis Gonzalez in 2001 was the beginning of my hatred for him

in the 04 ALCS he made a lot of mistakes. Mishandled his 'pen, didn't really take advantage of Varitek attempting to catch Wakefield in game 5, and most glaringly, didn't force Schilling to field his position in game 6.

This is the 2018 season predictions thread, not reminisce about the 2004 ALCS thread.

Worst loss of my sports fan life-by far. These things will be ingrained in my brain until the lights go out.

Oh, poor baby. You only got to see your baseball team have a dynasty in the late 90's and add another ring in 2009, and saw your NFL team win two Super Bowls over the best dynasty in the NFL.

Try having only two teams that you give a rats ass about, one of them won a WS when I was 4, and the other last won a title when my parents were 8 years old.

I'm older than you think. I also saw my baseball team win the AL 3 straight years and 2 consecutive World series '76-'78.

:heh:

Interesting

I think the Tribe is trending the wrong way

Losing Bruce and Santana, replacing them with only Alonso, I'm not loving that offense

Yeah, how will they ever live without an average outfielder.

The offense should regress and they won't match last year's record, but that pitching staff should be among the best in the league again. They should run away with the Central once again.

a bit surprised to see people ranking the O's ahead of the Jays. Jays could have a better offense and they should have a much better pitching staff even if it isn't very good. The Orioles staff is a dumpster fire especially if Bundy and Gausman don't progress.
