Bochy's a better manager than both. Williams is terrible. I mean, he's really awful. If the Nationals weren't so darned talented, he wouldn't have sniffed the award.

Bochy's really the only good manager I can think of in the NL. Well, Maddon now, I guess.

Hurdle is terrible at bullpen management, and simply can't get creative when dealing with pitchers in general. Williams is inept at writing lineups. Matheny and Mattingly are poor with bullpen management. Bochy's alright across the board, and, honestly, I think that's good enough to make him the best in the NL.

Sorry. I wasn't claiming that Bochy is not the hands-down best manager. I think he is. But in the relative SSS of a single season, I think that he left a bit to be desired (regular season only). As I said somewhere (forget where), while I think Donnie is a HORRIBLE manager, I think that he deserved some consideration this year. He brought his team from 10 back to win the division by 6. You have to notice that.

I'm mostly just pointing out that Bochy wasn't the only candidate who made errors throughout the season. You noticed his because you watched his games. I noticed Hurdles because I watched him throughout the season. Williams, neither of us watched, probably, all that much, but he's objectively terrible.
