and more time for the young guys because we got a LOT of them.

But but but... tne national media and some posters have been saying our cupboard is bare!

Huh, who knew that young guys sitting behind all pros and all stars could potentially be pretty good themselves?

yes but they are hurting for WR if you ask me and the youth all over this team is going to bite them a few more times this season. 11 wins is a pipe dream, they are just as likely to go 4-12 as they are to go 11-5. lets not forget who these teams are that they have beat. ( Cards, Cowboys and Raiders )

And let's not forget that they were a terrible overturn away from beating the Broncos and a play away from beating the Rams. All this despite playing 4 of their first 6 games on the road.

Growing pains tend to happen earlier in the season. But week 11 or 12, the young guys are pretty seasoned.

10-6 is a little to rich for me on this team. But if any coach can turn a bunch of YOUNG kids into winners we know it's Pete Carroll. Next offseason we Need DE and WR help and we need to hit on them. I think the Oline for the most part is set for the next 5+ years ( Not counting Brown we might need a LT in a couple seasons )

Fluker may not make it through the season. He's an injury waiting to happen. I see them continuing to invest there.

Expect a miss and feel the joy when they make it.

Is there any doubt that we draft a kicker if there's a good one out there?

Fluker, i forgot about him, Procic has him covered. Wont be the mauler but he is a better all around or WILL be a better all around blocker i think than Fluker is. Procic just needs that bulk and they are working on it. he looks much bigger this year. Procic had Hasselbeck arms when he was drafted on a Olinemans body lol poor guy. Made you wonder if LSU had a weight training program or did he just skip it lol

Sure. But think about what a top flight pass rusher would do for this D. It could go from top 10 to special. If not a draft pick, they need a Chris Clemons FA steal.

So you don't think the team will improve as the season progresses? Ok, I guess. To each their own.

No they will improve, but improving doesn't always = wins. Pete Carrolls 2nd year the Hawks went 7-9 but that team was Much better than the one that went 7-9 the year before and made the playoffs.

This team next year could be one of the better ones in the NFL again if it continues like it is now. It just wont happen this year. If it does i will be awe struck. Like i said a few posts ago "I" don't feel like they have found there identity yet. People talk about how they have and what not but when i watch the Hawks play i still feel like they are searching. It just looks like they are still trying to find themselves out there. It takes time for the Coaches to get in sync with the new and Young players and there is a lot of them out there.

I am happy by what i am seeing, don't get me wrong but these guys have to grow together still.

:agree:

The only reason the Hawks may be looking at a playoff berth right now is that the NFC doesn't really have a lot of separation in the teams vying for the wild cards. 9-7 could be enough to get into the playoffs this year - and that's possible for this team. If they have to win 10 - I'm not entirely sure they'll make that mark.

i think me and blstoker are on the same page here. This team if it finished with say 8 or 9 wins then they blew past what many pundits thought they would win ( i think the over/under was 6 or 7? ) Last year they were 9-7 and going down hill fast. This year they could be 9-7 but are climbing again. Even if they go 8-8 we see the growth and YOUTH on this team and the future looks bright. ( once again )

The Seahawks are definitely getting better as the year goes on, but to me the story of that game was moreso how terrible the Raiders are. I'd love to know what Jon Gruden sold Raiders ownership on, because he has a LONG ways to go before that team is even remotely competitive.

As far as the Seahawks go, it was nice to see some pass rush. I felt like that was the biggest weakness on defense so far this season. Frank Clark is going to be pricey this offseason.

Nice to see Penny get involved a bit and Russell has taken a huge step forward the last couple games. The next game at Detroit feels like a must win with some of the teams they have to play later in the year.

That was a good game on a big stage against a pretty bad team.

It was nice to see a pass rush again. They ran the ball well and had a decent mix of pass/run plays.

Much needed win before their bye, but again against a pretty bad team.

Next 5 game stretch will tell us a lot and setup whether they can ever stay at or above .500 at seasons end.

@ lions
Bolts at home
Rams on the road
Packers at home
Panthers on the road

That's a mix of decent to good teams after the lions anyway. It will be a solid measuring stick of what this team is this year. You've had enough time to see who you are and what you have. 1-4 would be a disaster. 3-2 would feel pretty good.

the seahawks are playing better than i thought they would ... their offense seems to be getting a little rhythm the last couple of weeks... i could see them competing for a wild card spot

Not sure I would discredit the Hawks for how bad Oakland is... Hawks gave the Raiders their worst defeat of the year which speaks volume to how well the Hawks played... Matchups make a difference, too... Just a bad matchup for the Raiders...

Yeah, I didn't mean to discredit the Seahawks at all. They've played pretty good football the last couple weeks and I'm definitely more encouraged than I was after Arizona.

That being said, I'm pretty comfortable saying Oakland is the worst team in the NFL. Especially when their line is beat up like it was.

Overseas game, young team, playing down to the level of their opponent. There's LOTS of ways this game could've gone bad, and it didn't. Are the Raiders not good right now? Absolutely. But Seattle stepped on their throats and didn't let up. That's a positive.

Yep. The line on this game settled around 3, so it's not like the betting public saw this as a decisive outcome before the game. The Seahawks put together their most complete game on both sides of the ball by a mile.

I don't see why this team can't win 10. Let's look at the remaining schedule.

@Lions
Chargers
@Rams
@Panthers
Packers
49ers
Vikings
@49ers
Chiefs
Cardinals.

You really don't think we can win 7 of those games? I certainly do. I see this team splitting the remaining road games and winning 4 or 5 of the remaining home games.

I'd be surprised if the Seahawks won seven of those games. Hope I'm wrong. For one thing I don't think the Seahawks have depth tp deal with the injuries that are sure to happen ( for every team ). Secondly most of those teams are playoff contenders ( at this point at least ) , the two exception being 49ers and Cards.
I see 5 wins happening maybe, could be less easily. I'll be ecstatic if I'm wrong. Keeping my expectations in check.
