Yep. Completely different beast back then.

Hell, the Lions won their last playoff game three straight times in the 60’s at one point.

Nobody remembers, because if you didn’t win your Conference in the regular season, you couldn’t win the championship.

“The Playoff Bowl” was essentially the game for third place. No playoff to get into the game, just seeding. You lose you’re done. You win, you’re also done. Lol
yeah if you want more to scratch your head, read about the tie rules.
some teams with a bunch of ties vs a team with one or two losses the team with a bunch of less wins but more ties win the championship (like 6-1-6 being better than 10-3-1) but 6-1 is a better pct. than 10-3.
& they played different amount of games.

So while I respect the old day teams. I dont compare their accomplishments to the Superbowl Era teams.

So we should revoke Green Bay's nickname of Title Town? They do have 4 Super Bowls, though, but obviously, they don't have the most Super Bowls.

Title town came from the old days. So I am good with not changing any of that. Also they owned the 1st two Superbowls which kind made the Lombardi Trophy. I am cool with GB being title town.

Telling you. from the 70's (late 60's really) to right now.
Steelers are the team throughout. All of our teams that have had hot moments in time (or even multiple) None of us have been like the Steelers. We have had long drawn out sadness. So unless someone makes it about this century. Only old Pats fans need reply. (like those that saw John Hannah play)

The Bears sure haven't done much in recent decades to maintain their legacy as one of the storied franchises.

Once you get to the 8th team you have a whole cluster of teams imo.

Chiefs vs Raiders stats:

Chiefs win the all time series 70-54-2

Raiders have 3 SBs and 1 AFL championship
Chiefs have 2 SBs and 3 AFL championships

Raiders have 5 Super Bowl appearances
Chiefs have 4 Super Bowl appearances

Both teams have won the division 12 times

Its basically up to Carr for the Raiders to keep up with the Chiefs

Denver has a better resume than either of these teams.

Elway and Peyton is quite the one-two punch. I just noticed the Raiders on a lot of lists and I think their decades of incompetence are slowly moving them off the list.

Maybe we should break these down by division.

1. Broncos
2a. Raiders
2b. Chiefs
4. Chargers

is almost certainly where the AFC West is right now. The Chiefs and Raiders ranking basically being an 'in progress' type of thing just based on how they do in the next couple of seasons.

Based off not winning any Super Bowls..

Bills > Browns all day and it’s not even close <--

You're right. But you got it backwards.

You gotta take into consideration how old the league is, it didn't start in '66, first year of the "Super Bowl". I've always found it odd that teams like the Packers, Bears, Eagles and even the Lions get credit for winning titles before the term Super Bowl was coined by Lamar Hunt. But not the Browns.

Here's a quick comparison of the Browns & Bills.

Paul Brown > any Bills coach you wanna name

Jim Brown > any Bills player you wanna name

championships: Browns- 4 (only team in league history to win it all their first year in the NFL) / Bills- none

Paul Brown's coaching tree is unmatched- Shula, Noll, Walsh

Main thing the Raiders having going for them is 5 SB appearances, 3 rings, and nearly 20 HOF'ers, all of them are modern era as far as the SB goes. Been pretty MIA the past 20 years. Pretty fascinating to see how they've tumbled down all time win percentage lists and what not since then.

Just some absolutely atrocious drafting.

Also, they don't have Stick em or John Madden.

That is probably the best way to do it, tbh.
NFCW would be,
1.San Francisco 49ers
2. L.A./ St. Louis Rams
3. Seattle Seahawks
4. Chi/ St, Louis/ Arizona Cardinals
