To be fair to the Texans, they were expected to be here at the start of the season. They just kinda coasted through the season in a bad division.

Totally. The Texans are a good team. It's just that the other 3 teams are absolute frickin' monsters. Swap any of them with the Lions and they'd be the Super Bowl favourite. In film terms they're the alien the other aliens are going to rip to shreds so its acidic blood will melt a hole in the containment chamber.

The Texans did show they have a 'playoff gear' and the Chiefs might be rusty. If KC was any other team then I think a lot of people would have them on upset alert. The Chiefs are a 12-5 team that got lucky a lot. That said, its very difficult to imagine the Texans winning 3 more in a row and very easy to picture the other teams winning 3 in a row.

Its also entirely possible that the Chiefs bring out Hollywood Brown and Worthy and get a great pass offense going again to go with their good defense and beat the Texans the 30.

I don't know about all that. The Chargers are a flawed team and a bit early for that stage. Passes off of receivers' hands becoming turnovers were just the nails in the coffin. They keep trying to make Quentin Johnson an NFL starting receiver and the results have been shaky at best. That running game was not up to Harbaugh standards either.

Ladd came up big and has looked like a steal of a pick, but they really need another guy (and a TE) to bolster that passing game, not to mention a reliable young RB moving forward.

It's not that crazy right now to have the Rams in the SB. They are playing great and seem to be pretty healthy. As a Lions fan, if they can get past Washington, I'd rather they play Eagles than the Rams again.
