Here's a video on that @Screamin12th . The announcers also kind of eluded to the same thing. I think they were pretty sneaky about it, but I don't think it was illegal. If Simmons jumped directly over the long snapper that's a penalty, or if he boosted himself off the other guys, etc. that's a penalty. But what he did here per the video I think was legit...

Its about the man pushing DOWN on the center you are not allowed to do that. It was put in to protect the centers in the NFL because they were getting injured BECAUSE of this.

I was wrong about the time limit thats only in college.

they will make the rule more clear I bet after the season. Just like how a New York team Beating the Seahawks got instant replay brought back this will get another line added to the rule book. Bet me.

Yah I bet they further clarify the rule. Cause other teams are gonna start doing this.

It definitely doesn't change the fact they played like crap for almost the entirety of the game that's for sure. However a new set of downs at around the 20 yard line with a minute left, they're in a good spot to pull it out.

Regardless I agree with everyone saying it's not a penalty as the rule is currently written.

there is zero doubt the Hawks played like crap. But did they? Did they play like crap or are they just, well, crap?

This team is frustrating as we know they have talent and right now they are underperforming. The offense can't run the ball and gave up 7 sacks with the 1st TD of the entire game came in the 4th quarter with 6 minutes left. We did not deserve to win that game by any means. If the defense didn't spot the scoreboard 7 points and officially hold the Giants offense to two TDs this should have been a blow out win if the visiting team was a playoff contender.

Although coaching seems to be an issue at the end of the day this is still mostly PC and JS's team you would have to give Mike Macdonald another year to start forming his own players.

When Daniel Jones comes out and on the very first snap and stumbles and bumbles and puts the ball on the ground, even though the Giants managed to recover, you would think the intensity would ramp up but instead, we end up giving up a simple screen on 3rd and a mile where only 2 of our 11 guys was even remotely close to the guy and those 2 looked like they were playing flag football on the play. That was as much a lack of effort as it was execution. I know we got spoiled by KJ, Kam, Earl and Bobby for years but damn, that was pathetic. At that point, we knew it was going to be a long day as fans. Oh well, onward but damn, this doesn't look hopeful. We are going to be facing some actual good offenses in the upcoming weeks. A little better effort from those guys would at least, take the bitter taste out some.

we might as well not have LBs out there on the field for all the impact they made.

That was the most pathetic, disappointing performance I can remember since laying a turd in the playoffs at home vs Rams in the COVID season. I couldn't believe the refusal to run the ball in the 1st half. I couldn't believe it was so easy for the Giants to move the ball on us w/o their best WR & RB.... in our house and with most of our DL back on the field. I'm starting to worry that JSN's hands are not as good as what I thought they were coming out of college; that 3rd down drop was crushing.

G-men are one of the worst teams in the league, and we looked less than them yesterday. Very concerning.

But it's a long season, and these dud games do happen. I expect we'll bounce back and play better on Thursday against a much better team, but I doubt it will be enough to win.

So they say it's legal if its not to the head or neck area, well it was to the back of the head neck area. As you can see his hand is now firlmly planeted in the neck area as he is still pushing down and the ball has yet to be kicked. Also Hands to the face on the left, as he grabbed the facemask and turns the guys head and pushes it back. Hawks NO WAY deserved to win this game and if you ask me this showing should shame them to no end.

I saw the holding Tomlinson down at the time and felt there was no way that was legal, didn’t notice they did the same to the long snapper. Legal or not, dirty AF and this is how linemen get hurt.

From MacDonald's interview today on Brock and Salk

“You got to have more at-bats in the run game,” head coach Mike Macdonald said during his conversation with Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk on Monday morning. “We got to give the ball to K-9 (Walker) more, period – Zach as well. There’s no going around it. There’s definitely, going back at it, some more opportunities as drives start to get going where we can kind of get back to normal operation and make sure we’re giving Ken the ball. So again, those (decisions) are going to vary from game to game, but we can’t be just handing the ball off to him five times. That’s a disservice to him.

Seattle has been the league’s most pass-heavy team so far under first-year offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. According to TeamRankings.com, the Seahawks lead the league with a 67.39% pass play percentage. The next closest is Cleveland at 64.65%.

The team has been even more pass-heavy in recent weeks, dialing up the pass on 72.96% of plays the past three games and 81.03% plays against the Giants.

I'm curious to see how he handles this moving forward... Last week, he said that they threw the ball too much in that game and that he wanted to see more balance via the running game... This week, it was even worse at a 81.03% pass vs 18.97% run ratio... That has too change... We invested (2) second rounders on running backs... Gotta give them the rock... Especially when we have one of the better RB's in the NFL...

Oh I think they'll be giving more carries to the RBs next week. What McDonald needs to do is keep a eye on weekly and make sure the offense doesn't get away from it as it can happen without the intent to do so going into a game.

I can count no less than a dozen times Geno checked out of a play. He's on a prove it year and has the ability to check out of the run.

No way the coaches will throw Smith under the bus, but they have to take that away from him if they really want to run at all costs.

That and the penalties Geno kept creating for taking too long to check out of plays to begin with.

Need to reduce the amount of things he has to think about pre snap.

That was a total mess all around. Grubb gets a D. Macdonald gets a D. Geno a D+ given he did drive down to win/tie at the end, but otherwise had a bad day. Both lines get a D and the overall execution on Defense gets an F- with that piss poor tackling.
