Release the Kraken - Fuck the Canucks
Cougs could go undefeated and make waves. UW's range going into the season was somewhere between 5 - 8 wins likely. It's not that it wasn't important, it's just that there was a lot more for WSU with the emotion over their perception that UW caused them to be scratching out a conference that had more on it for them. There wasn't any way to match that. They wanted it more and it showed.I'd argue this should have been an important game for us if we want to play in a bowl game. They should be realistic about their best case outcome this year, and I'd say that's barely making a bowl, given all of the roster turmoil this past offseason.
If they can clean up some of those mental mistakes on the D they can reach 6 still, but this was never going to be the season we have seen in recent years.
In fact, we've seen a lot of downgrade over college football recently with teams that should be dominating struggling more. Not having kids stay through your system for 2-3 years before starting like we used to, kids not having vested interest in the schools they play for anymore, always one eye out on bigger offers and a quick exit to the portal. The game is changing fast in college. Teams getting gutted like UW did last year are going to become much more common in this new era.
