For sure TL is playing the last 4 games as a Seahawk. He's got a career in real estate going now in the Seattle area, so I think he's probably done for good when he's done here.

I think the most preferable move this off-season wrt DK is trade him for whatever you can get. Even if it's a 4th rounder. That means you avoid a $31M cap hit for 2025 *and* you got 6 strong years of production out of a late 2nd round pick, with a small rebate at the end. That's a lot of value. I think the chances he plays up to the monster contract it would require to keep him here are minimal, and that would also keep you from using those cap dollars to address the more pressing issues on the roster.

If you can get a 3rd for Walker and start the cycle I mentioned a year earlier, that's also acceptable. The main idea with him is not giving him a 2nd contract, and that's more about the position than him. Guys like Saquon Barkley and CMC are worth 2nd contracts, but Walker is not on their level.

Well... uh.... well shit, I can't argue with any of this. It's like I responded to myself! :suds:

I would be shocked if we could get a 3rd for K9.

Yeah hard to trade a RB nowadays. Barkley, Henry, Aaron Jones for example all played out their contracts and became FA's and I would think their original teams checked the trade market when they got to one year left on their contracts but ended up not finding a trade.

Same, though the running game has made a bit of a comeback this year. Fallback position is burn as much tread as possible off those tires next year and let some other team pay him.

We wont... which is why I was saying if you can get a 2025 3rd from him from some idiotic team or a 3rd in 2026... pull the trigger. Hell if there wasn't a trade deadline, I'll pull that trigger now (at least to an AFC team).

The running game has had maybe 3 effective games all season. Yesterday was very encouraging but I want to see how it does next week.

The problem with K9 is the reason why we are all ready to let him move on. He can't stay healthy. Better than Raashad Penny but still constantly hurt.

If someone offers a 3rd for him, we take it without a 2nd thought.

I am talking league-wide. Certainly the running game in Seattle has been lousy. The context was KW's trade value.

Definitely agree trade K9 if you can. I'd take a 7th round pick for him honestly.

As for DK I reluctantly agree with trading him as well. I'd like to keep him but when he only gets 5-6 catches a game, hard to justify that contract. Really wish Seattle would use him like other teams use their stud receivers and let him use his size and freak athleticism to make plays. But the Seahawks have mostly been unwilling to do that with him.

trading K9 is not a smart move that just means another position they will need to draft. WR sure as you are dumping a ton of money if you trade DK but K9 for his talent level is a bargin on his first contract. He has elite talent and once our Oline gels I think you all will see how special he is. Had he been healthy he might have gone over 200 yards this past game. I WOULD like to see our OTHER Kenny get more reps though and have ALWAYS said they need to use him more. In my eyes Kenny Mcintosh is more skilled as a runner AND a reciever than Charbs and is a very good blocker. I think people forget he is over 6 foot tall and over 205 pounds. He is a well built WR with runningback skills. I would move forward with all 3 RB and US THEM ALL to limit loads on Walker and Charbs. I would give something like 12/12/10 split. McIntosh needs to get on the field more that kid is a weapon and needs to be used.

Where this team needs to trim fat is WR and IDL, the two highest paid position groups on the team. The production from them doesnt equal the money being spent on them. Jones is over paid for his production and his cap number takes a HUGE jump next season From 10 million to 25 million. This hurts me to say but Nwosu also needs to be cut. His base cap number also jumps to over 20 million next year. Fant ( TE ) can be thrown away also because he is not worth 13+ Million. J. Reeds cap number is fine for 2025 at 6 million and they should carry him but R Jenkins at 7.9+ million NO F-IN WAY.

If we could get a 3rd rounder for K9 like some have said, then that would easily be worth the trade since he will be in his last year of his contract next season. Of course we aren't going to get a 3rd rounder for him. K9 is a good back that can't stay healthy.

Jones has definitely played better this year but certainly not to the level of his contract. Nwosu, like K9, just can't stay healthy. Hard to justify his cap hit when he isn't on the field for most of the season.

I can see it going either way with Uchenna Nwosu. His dead cap is $13M, so you're only saving $8M by cutting him. $8M is not nothing, but he's just turning 28 this month so I think I might prefer to see something done to lower his cost and keep him around. You cannot have too many good pass rushers, and he is the best we have when healthy.

People like to dump on Charbonnet, but statistically he's been the better runner this year. Seattle's top 2 rushing games by running backs this year have been 2 of the 3 when Walker was out. I'm not on board with the idea that Walker is elite like some people are, but in addition part of being elite is the ability to stay healthy and Walker just doesn't. I'm totally fine with the Seahawks giving the reigns to Charbonnet and getting whatever they can for Walker.

Also 100% agree about giving McIntosh more reps regardless of what they do with Walker and Charbs.

Well Lockett is basically as good as gone. He's just gotten a bit older/slower, and I have to give Lockett big props because he restructured for a very team friendly deal knowing there's zero way Seattle can afford it.

So without Lockett, you've got JSN and DK. Now I say trade DK because he's going to want some $30M+ per year contract, and I just don't see him worth it with a) the emergence of JSN, and b) the fact DK is now having some recurring knee issues which I believe is the same knee he got injured last year with. So it's a poor investment unless it's some 4 year $90M contract... I'd be fine with that... he does stretch the field for defenders... But not a 4 year $130M contract or something. The Commanders forum seems to be on board with paying Tee Higgins $30M per and I just don't get it.

As for the DL, I think we all know Jones is gone - and we can probably spread the $14M dead cap over 2 years, and Nwosu it'll depend on how he ends the season. If he can get back to his 2023 form (where he was on pace for an all pro season and got a player of the week award) he's worth the $21M cap hit. Jones has never proven he can play to that value... I never really understood the signing in the first place.

Yeah, calling Walker elite is straight up goofy, unless elite means "a bit better than average." And shoot... he hasn't even been average this season with his 3.7 ypc! Not even top 25 in the league in rush yards this year; 19th last year, 12th as a rookie in 2022. Nowhere close to elite. I like KW well enough, but we have to at least be reasonable about things.

We can’t stop the run, not even close, it’s like we’re out of position on every run play…
