Because the Rams won today the Hawks Playoff % chance dropped 10% ( 76% with the win but then 66% because the Rams won ) FYI the Rams are pretty much in the driver seat. If it comes down to week 17 @LA then i dont expect us to win.

Hawks NEED to beat GB and that will help them in the WC race if they dont win the division.

Agreed.

9ers are not a pushover. The others are meh.

I think we can take the Viked
9rs will be playing for their season for sure, so it's not like they are going to just roll over, but the Rams are playing good ball right now.
If the hawks drop both of vikings/GB they are done IMO.

Rams control their own destiny man.
If they come into that last game 1 game back and win against the Hawks, they win the division.
They have the Jets, 9ers, and Cards left before that game while Seattle has GB and the Viks.

They are FAR from a lock to go to the playoffs.
Good news though, GB and Viks are here at home, so that’s a plus…

Seahawks are better on the road. 3-4 @ home 5-1 on the road.

Rams also are 2-1 in the division the Seahawks are 3-2 so the Rams hold that lead right now also. Need the Cards and 49ers to punch the Rams in the mouth and they could do that as they both are still in the playoff hunt also and with the Hawks remaining schedule they all have a VERY good chance. Going to be a tough last 4 weeks in the NFC West for EVERY team. Only one thing for sure for the Hawks is if they can win their last 4 games they are in the playoffs. If they lose one the chances are below 50%.

is this NOT a pick play? We ALWAYS get called on these but ours most of the time is just a WR running into someone this is a straight up Block.

I know its with in a yard ( with in a yard ) when the ball is in the air. I only bring this up because WE Always get called for Offensive PI on these smae plays that look JUST like this! I think a flag should have been thrown.

Don't forget the pats did it all the time and were never call, when Brady and grock did them.

Lets talk about the Oline! ZERO SACKS AGAINST!

I have been sitting on my hands a lot this year but the one thing i have in fact seen is the growth the past 4 to 5 weeks of this Oline. Even before this game there was times when Geno had ALL DAY to throw. Sure most of them didnt amount to much but you can't blame the Oline there. They just keep improving and once they get rid of Tomlinson i think they will take ANOTHER step forward. ALL WE NEED is a average Oline right now. If you get a average Oline and that line is full of rookies 2nd year and 3rd year players only you have tremendous growth potential there.

Hands down the best runblocking performance of the year. They were getting to the 2nd level often and finally opening up room. To bad Walker missed today because i think he has also a HUGE game.

I haven't heard much from this forum, but do we move on from Walker? I am of the opinion that we do. He can't stay healthy... If we can get a 3rd rounder for him in the offseason, IMO take it.

I’d still take the home game though over traveling, Seahawks have been a different team lately no matter where they’re playing, defense has been stepping up … I’m very happy both games are here, it’s always better to sleep in your own bed, rest up and not travel ….

It hasn’t mattered if we play at home or not the past three years or so…
Home cooking hasn’t been like it was in the past, BUT I’d still take a home game over a road game, Green Bay on the road has been brutal on us historically…Let them travel ! I like how are D has been playing lately, gonna be loud on Sunday night !

Seattle has gotta play mistake free football kind of like they did today to have a chance against the Packers and Vikings. What happened against the Jets (special teams) cannot happen if the Seahawks want to win either of those games.

Oh i agree but i was just pointing out they have not been very good at home this year. Remember they lost to the GIANTS yeah that team at home.

Need another game were the running game does it's part and keep geno at or below 32 attempts per game to limit his fuck-ups.

Geno played the short game today, and that works well for us and is the smart game plan going forward.

On the morning after, here's what's sticking with me about the game:
  • Game ball to Charbs. Still quite a few runs that went for 1 yard or less, but on the whole he got what was there and often times more. It was refreshing to get a break from all the cutbacks and dancing and just hit the hole. And not only was Charbonnet a workhorse yesterday, McIntosh was a great RB2. Clearly this was the best the rushing attack has looked all year.
  • Geno had a very solid game. The yardage wasn't prolific and only 1 TD, but he took care of the ball and threw accurate passes. The offense on the whole left some points out there in the 2nd half and made more of the mistakes that we're all tired of seeing, but I don't remember many (if any) drive killing sacks and no turnovers was key.
  • Since I just complimented the ground game and QB, I guess that means the OL deserves some love. Not a completely clean game for them, but it was firmly acceptable.
  • JSN is our best WR. He isn't the biggest or the fastest or the hardest to tackle, but he's the most reliable and seems to be the guy we are going to when we absolutely need a big catch. That said, nothing good happened on any of the plays where we ran him back behind the RB and tried something fancy. Those need to go.
  • 1 target for TL? I honestly forget he's on the team during most games now. End of an era soon for sure. That 1 target was a great throw by Geno as well, surprised Tyler didn't come down with it as we've seen him do so many times over the last 10 years. Future ROH inductee.
  • Overall very strong defense for the 5th straight game. They allowed a bit more plays/drives than the first matchup with AZ, but that was sort of inevitable I think. Still created problems for Murray and got a couple turnovers. Hall and Mafe were problems all day, and Big Cat showed up a lot again as well. Looks like Nwosu is on the verge of being part of the picture once again, and we'll need him with these tough games down the stretch.
  • I think Geno got hosed on the grounding call. It landed about 6 yards from an eligible receiver, and I've seen similar not get called plenty of times. In fact, in the SNF game, Mahomes threw one even further away from a target and didn't get flagged. The ref even helped the matter by pointing to the guy that was nearly 10 yards away.
  • AJ Barner should be a bigger part of the passing game, which I suspect will come in year 2 when Fant is no longer here. In the mean time, no idea why Brown's targets shouldn't be going to Barner. I think he had only 1 catch on 1 target, but he trucked a dude and got probably 2x the expected yardage.
The 4 remaining: vs Packers, vs Vikings, @ Chicago, @ Rams. Tough final stretch. We'll have to be 2+ games up on the Rams going into week 18, or they win the division by beating us. 10 wins should be good enough for at least a WC, and if we only get 1 win in these last 4 then we don't belong in the playoffs anyway. Looking forward to seeing how this team faces the challenge.

I feel now the same way I felt before yesterday's game: you squeeze as much as you can out of Walker on his rookie deal and then let him walk. Draft a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round of 2026 who can be the backup for a year and then starter when you do the same thing with Charbs. Wash, Rinse, Repeat. I think unless you have a premier type talent at RB, that's the best way to handle that position.

Great writeup JMR.

On Lockett, yah it does suck because he's been a great receiver for years for the Hawks. However, when he did his contract restructure this last year which basically forces Seattle to cut him ($30M hit, hardly any dead cap) I kind of knew he was hoping to retire a Seahawk and probably hang up his cleats. I think the coaches wanted to keep him on as a veteran receiver for a young JSN (who seems to have finally arrived) and locker room guy for the offense.

That said, I don't see Lockett on the Seahawks after this year. Great player and love how he contributed, but I think his body is just kind of wearing down and he's not able to get the separation or jump balls he used to, which is evidenced by the lack of targets.

Now that said, with JSN's emergence... wtf do we do with DK? This draft is not HORRIBLE at WR/RB (cause it's pretty terrible everywhere else lol).. do you just take another WR, trade DK for a 2nd, grab a guard/DL and march? Given DKs knee injuries (the one he had last year can end careers, and it seems to keep coming up) and really lack of impact since JSN has come on... I kind of think we should move on. Spend the money on a guard and DL (Hankins is basically done, Reed is getting older - although PFF had him as the 3rd highest rated SAFETY on their recap LOL).

And JMR if you read through the entirety of my ramblings lol, notice that I mentioned RB... I'm not saying take another in the 2nd round, but I'd move on from Walker. He's explosive as hell and makes a lot of stuff work behind a makeshift OL, but he can't stay healthy. It's been nagging injuries throughout his career...

Frankly I'd ship him off to the first team willing to trade a 3rd rounder (or higher) next year. He's back to being injured... AGAIN. I'd be shocked if anyone would actually offer a 2026 3rd (especially since the 2025 draft class is so cheap), so if some team does, take it.

I'd also be willing to consider sending him to a team (AFC) for a 2026 3rd rounder (or higher) prior to the start of the 2025 season... That's effectively a 4th round in value, but I'd still take it.

Again I love Walker and when he's healthy the guy is explosive as all and I wish we used him in the pass a bit more, but he just can't stay healthy. And now with DKs knee (the knee injury he had last year has ended careers) keeps creeping up. Is it time to let him walk?

For sure TL is playing the last 4 games as a Seahawk. He's got a career in real estate going now in the Seattle area, so I think he's probably done for good when he's done here.

I think the most preferable move this off-season wrt DK is trade him for whatever you can get. Even if it's a 4th rounder. That means you avoid a $31M cap hit for 2025 *and* you got 6 strong years of production out of a late 2nd round pick, with a small rebate at the end. That's a lot of value. I think the chances he plays up to the monster contract it would require to keep him here are minimal, and that would also keep you from using those cap dollars to address the more pressing issues on the roster.

If you can get a 3rd for Walker and start the cycle I mentioned a year earlier, that's also acceptable. The main idea with him is not giving him a 2nd contract, and that's more about the position than him. Guys like Saquon Barkley and CMC are worth 2nd contracts, but Walker is not on their level.
