I was encouraged by the PAC State announcement this week.

This is the most undisciplined UW team since the Willingham era, but yesterday was more about energy. This was the cougs superbowl. The last P4 team on their schedule and they had a lot of hate/frustration over the conference breakup. UW has a whole new staff and mostly new players that didn't have the same emotional drive for the game. It was the fear all week long. There just wasn't nearly as much riding on that game for UW as WSU.

That said, you can't beat anyone giving up 16 penalties for 135y. Most of the cougs scores came directly on the backs of those free gifts over and over again.

Fisch has a lot to clean up on that defense and he himself needs to stop making boneheaded play calls in key situations.

I'd argue this should have been an important game for us if we want to play in a bowl game. They should be realistic about their best case outcome this year, and I'd say that's barely making a bowl, given all of the roster turmoil this past offseason.

Our Oline is getting no push or creating holes at all. Give some credit to the Pats D though. they are a solid unit.
