Which failed HC the Jets, Giants, Jags, Cowboys or some other?
if Cleveland fires stefanski i think he would be a good pickup.
But also mccarthy or pederson. if we could snag an OC thats won a superbowl as a HC i have a hard time seeing that as a negative.
Lets face it, jacksonville and dallas are two very poorly run franchises where nobody has been successful in decades

I believe Browns FO already said they're bringing back Stefanski

I am with everyone here as i don't like what i saw from Grubb also. It was what many of us said BEFORE the season started. " He doesnt like to run"

Now after saying that i don't see him getting fired. I think they will give this group a few years to do something. I remember SO MANY of you wanted Bevell fired who was the best OC we have had in years and the best SINCE he was fired. NO ONE is as good as he was and it's time all the Bevell haters eat crow and admit you know NOTHING! LMAO! Bevell was a good to great OC that had a risk adverse HC.

Bevell was terrible, a good OC would have gotten a lot more out of the players we had. For fucks sake he had jimmy graham blocking on most plays and always called those stupid bubble screens.
Unsurprisingly he never caught on anywhere and is the qb coach for the dolphins.

He was still productive. a 22 PPG season was his low water mark and we have easily a better group of WR's than we ever had with Bevell. Graham didnt fit his offensive scheme Zach Miller did though. Other than his first year here his offense scored more PPG than we have for the last two seasons and was over 25 PPG for 4 years. 2020 was the last time we were over 25 PPG. (Waldrons first year ...wtf lol )

NOT saying we should go get him not at all.

It’s crazy how Gino can make $6 million today in escalators… He needs 183 yards passing today to hit $2 million bonus. He needs to end today with 70% completion percentage and receive $2 million. If he gets his 10th win today, he will get $2 million.

This is why we’re not seeing Sam Howell in my opinion…just would not be a good look for the team if they benched Geno with $6 million on the table. This only happens if they were planning on moving on from him after the season.

I mean that says a lot to the team as well, lol. You're going to bench a guy because he might get paid? It's not like Geno has made a lucrative career when you look at most QBs. So you say, "Well we're going to start Howell because we don't want to pay another $6M" especially against a division rival that just knocked you out of the playoffs (yes I know they're not starting players, but that should give us more incentive to have pride and go kick them in the teeth in LA).

Anyway, obviously if you benched Geno for that reason you're going to piss off Geno, but you're sending a message to the rest of the players as well that you're cheap and not rewarding a player for hitting their benchmarks. That's a pretty low message to have, and after something like that - you're prob. not going to be very attractive with ANY kind of incentive contract lol.

…. thus the main reason we’re not going to see Howell… last week a lot of Seahawk fans here were wanting Howell to start the last week of the season…

Yah I mean I kind of get the argument. Let's see what we can do with Sam Howell... but against the Rams backups? Eh... whatever. And then you run the risk of pissing off a number of guys because you're shafting Geno on prob. $4M (win and over 200 yards are expected). And he's already at 70.2%.... so the odds of him getting that against backups is prob. a thing. And I think it's actually like 69.75% or something lol.

Now that said what SHOULD Seattle do? IMO start Howell but you PAY Geno the $6M anyway because if he played he's going to hit those. The benefit is:

1) See if Howell's even worthy of being backup.
2) Rest Geno so he doesn't get injured to start the 2025 season.
3) Rest Geno so he doesn't get injured if you plan to trade him.
4) If you lose with Howell maybe you draft a little earlier lol.

I believe the bonuses and payment will hit Seattle's 2025 cap. I don't think they were accounted for in 2024 based on probability but dunno for sure. But if you sit Geno, pay him.

I commend the Hawks for allowing Geno to have an opportunity to make some more money. It says a lot about the organization and like you said future players.

You look at a team like the Eagles. Barkley wanted to play and break the record against his former team, the New York Giants. But the Eagles aren’t allowing him to do so to keep him healthy for the postseason. I for one was hoping to watch him do so against his former team today. I thought that would’ve been pretty cool. If the player wants to play, I would’ve let him play to beat this kind of record. In today’s day and age where there’s so many running back by committees and running backs don’t stay healthy during the season like they used to for some reason -This record is going to be tough to beat.

I edited my post to add more to it. I get all the reasons for sitting Barkley and I get the reasons to sit Geno.... and I think Geno is fine sitting IF YOU PAY HIM. He's almost guaranteed to get the $6M, so if you sit him over Howell - you pay him anyway. My edited post highlights the obvious benefits.

A win today would make us the only 10-win team to miss the playoffs since the league expanded to a 14 team post season in 2020, and it's likely to happen with LAR sitting pretty much every moderately dangerous player they have on offense. And it's a bit of a curious move to me, as losing this game means they will drop from the 3 seed to the 4 with a Tampa win..... and that means the Rams will host either the Vikings or Lions in round 1 instead of GB.

I am expecting a big game from Lockett today. It's surely his last in a Seattle uniform and maybe final game of his career. I think we are going to feed him the ball and let him go out in style.

I am hopeful it's DK's last game in Seattle. And that's not because I don't like him or don't think he's a good player, but I just don't want the money it would cost to keep him committed at the WR position when there are more pressing fires to put out elsewhere on this roster. He was the last pick of the 2nd round in 2019; we got 6 years of good production from him, and that is a great ROI. Any draft capital coming back into our account now to avoid his price tag is gravy.

This season has been rife with disappointment from blowing winnable games to playing so poorly at home to long stretches of offensive ineptitude, but I also saw reasons to be hopeful about the future. The defense made strides that I think are sustainable, and I think we nailed it with Coach Mac. Get some OL help, and we'll make a jump next season.

lol why would you call a fair catch at the 6 yard line with nobody within 7 yards of you? Harbaugh needs to go as well...

Well, I would've been more for starting Howell for the F of it (and paying Geno the $6M regardless) but whatever. It might be more about pride at this point. Course if Seattle loses or barely wins, might do more to hurt it.

Playaction with no running game or even attempts to run. Results in a sack *sigh*

And then we run after a sack (after two straight passes).

4 passes, 1 run (when the Rams are putting in starters for passing downs)... 1 pass resulted in a sack. Par for the course for Ryan "I refuse to call a running play" Grubb.
